The House of Symphony
Derived from the “Fly Agaric” mushroom, the house of symphony is located in Clark Quay where the day and night that never dies. It can be seen as if it blooms and grows together hovewer uneven. It’s what within the soul that gives an aural architecture which differs from other buildings around Singapore as the increasing urbanization, acoustic design in buildings becomes essential because of proximity to everything. Sound is emphasised on the visial aspect of the building. The brass structure connected from building act as a flute, the wooden stairs acts as a zylophone, and the habits and activities of the inhabitants makes the music within the architecture. The marvel beauty of such structures and are often mesmerised by the facades as it add value to our architecture masterpiece.
I’ve seen an umbrella structure as an inspiration and tried to use ice cream sticks and try to emulate it’s look on 2D. Along the way, i’ve seen more of an interesting structure which co-relates my inspiration of the fly aragic mushroom of it’s growth which is called the “Deployable structure.”
