ocated just off Palma’s main square in the heart of the city, the newest addition to the capital’s barbershop scene – Barber’s Club Palma – is also hands down the most conceptually striking. Before beginning, Alcúdia-based Minimal Studio had a clear objective: To create a space that fuses the traditional barbershop aesthetic with leading-edge design. Juan David Martínez Jofre, the architect behind the project, also asserts that inspiration was drawn from the traditional open-blade razor, from the soft tactility of the handle to the cold, sharp steel of the blade. As David puts it: “a perfect balance between delicacy and rawness.” The motif is first displayed literally, in the entrance where you are first welcomed by a large scale reproduction of the iconic barbary tool. El Barber´s Club Palma constituye la última incorporación al sector de las barberías de la capital. Ubicada junto a la plaza principal de Palma, en pleno corazón de la ciudad, es, sin duda alguna, la más llamativa a nivel conceptual. Antes de embarcarse en este nuevo proyecto, Minimal Studio, radicado en Alcúdia, tenía un objetivo claro: crear un espacio que fusionara la estética de una barbería tradicional con un diseño vanguardista. Juan David Martínez Jofre, artífice del proyecto, afirma que encontró la inspiración en la tradicional navaja de afeitar, en su suave mango y en el frío y afilado acero de la hoja. Der jüngste Zuwachs der Friseurszene, Barber’s Club Palma, ist direkt neben der Plaza Mayor im Herzen der Inselhauptstadt gelegen und zweifellos der konzeptionell beeindruckendste Friseursalon von allen. Vor Beginn hatte das in Alcúdia ansässige Minimal Studio ein ganz klares Ziel: Einen Salon zu entwerfen, in dem sich traditionelle Frisierkunst und Spitzendesign vereinen. Der Architekt Juan David Martínez Jofre ließ sich für dieses Projekt von dem traditionellen Rasiermesser - von der angenehmen Haptik des Griffs bis zu dem kalten, scharfen Stahl der Klinge inspirieren. „Eine perfekte Balance zwischen Anmut und Rohzustand”, erklärt David. Das Leitmotiv spiegelt sich schon am Eingang wider, wo der Besucher von einer überdimensionalen Reproduktion des kultigen Rasiermessers und einem Ladentisch im Bar-Stil begrüßt wird. Eine
