Where the Purchaser undertakes repairs or remedial work on the Company’s behalf, all costs and the work proposed must be agreed in writing by both parties before commencement.
Scope and Limitations
•The warranty excludes defects caused by external factors, including, but not limited to, theft, vandalism, misuse, improper electrical supply, unauthorised repairs, environmental damage, or acts of nature.
•The colour tolerance of LED modules is not covered by the warranty. Luminous flux and performance are subject to a tolerance of +/- 10% for new LED modules.
•The Company shall not be liable for any special, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profit, wasted expenditure, or economic loss, arising from product failure.
Company Liability
•Liability for direct physical loss or damage caused by the Company’s fault or negligence is limited to the value of the original order for each event or series of events arising from the exact cause.
•This warranty is the sole and exclusive remedy provided by the Company. All other warranties, conditions, or liabilities, whether express or implied, are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.
•Nothing in this warranty excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by the Company’s negligence, fraud, or any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

To maximise the working life and safety of your installation, annual programmed maintenance is highly recommended and required under this warranty. Maintenance includes inspection, testing, and replacement of serviceable components in line with the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Post Warranty Maintenance Requirements:
Abacus lighting installations are designed, manufactured, and installed to the highest standards, utilising only quality components in compliance with all applicable British and European standards. However, some components, such as lamps and capacitors, have a finite service life. Therefore, Abacus recommends that installations be inspected annually to ensure that the lighting continues to function correctly and safely.
Each installation should be inspected, tested, and certified for electrical safety in accordance with the BS7671 Electrical Wiring Regulations. All electrical systems installed by Abacus Lighting come with a complete NICEIC Electrical Installation Certificate. The recommended period between inspections is indicated at the bottom of page 2 of the supplied Electrical Installation Certificate. This period typically ranges from two to five years, depending on factors such as location, type of installation, and usage hours.
Abacus also offers the option to incorporate a Periodic Electrical Inspection Report into one of our maintenance packages to suit various needs and budgets. While regular maintenance significantly enhances the longevity and safety of the lights, Abacus cannot accept responsibility for any damage to equipment or failures of the lighting that occur outside the warranty period.
