Something to think about It’s a brand new year. Two Thousand Seventeen has never happened before and will never happen again. A statement such as this sounds redundant doesn’t it? It is however, a true statement and one we should take seriously. We will have one shot at getting it right. As we look forward to a new year and new seasons, plans are already being made to harvest a crop that isn’t even planted yet. That’s the optimistic nature of agriculture. All good plans are
salted with a big portion of caution and flexibility. “Make a plan; then plan to change it.” As ag pilots, we are but one wheel in a big machine. We just happen to be the coolest wheel.
Ag aviation is a continuously evolving industry. Every year brings changes in technology and new ways of doing old things. If you look back at history, particularly military history, you will find weapon advancement always exceed tactical development. People find better ways to kill people before they find better ways to keep from being killed. The same principle applies to just about every aspect of our world. Technological advancements often hit us before we are ready for them. Mass efficiency and convenience is revealed, then we try to
