Collagen is the main structural protein of the connective tissues making up to 25% to 35% of the total protein makeup of our bodies . It contains specific amino acids such as Glycine, Proline, Hydroxyproline and Arginine. It is found in skin, muscles, connective tissues such as ligaments, tendons and cartilage. It is also abundantly found in the gut, blood vessels, heart, corneas, the dentin of the teeth and intervertebral discs. Why collagen is important? Collagen is a cementing substance that gives shape and firmness to our bodies.
