AAGO ADVOCACY

2022 Florida Apartment Association Legislative Conference The 2022 Legislative Session will convene at 12 pm on January 11. This year, the FAA Legislative Conference is back in Tallahassee! The Conference will start on Monday, January 31, and run through Wednesday, February 2. This is our opportunity to advocate on behalf of the multifamily housing industry. Industry veterans and rookies alike - your attendance is strongly encouraged! The Conference will feature a silent auction supporting the Apartment Political Action Committee (APAC), a legislative briefing in preparation for office visits, and will conclude with legislative meetings at the Capitol. For additional information on registration, legislative priorities, and more, please visit, faahq.org/events/2022-legislative-conference

Get Involved! Citizen Advisory Boards Each County and municipal government has advisory boards and committees that individuals who work and/or live in may apply to serve on. Many of these advisory boards focus on areas that directly impact our industry. In many cases, issues and even proposed ordinances are brought to these advisory boards/committees for discussion early on in the process. Having AAGO members serving on these boards/committees is an extremely impactful way to gain advanced knowledge of potential issues and have the ability to influence them. We are aware of several advisory board openings. If you or someone you know would be interested in serving on a board or would like additional information, please contact Lee Steinhauer or Trinity Kutschinski. 34
