CELEBRATING CATHOLIC FAITH

ALUMNI OUTCOMES

ACADEMIC SUCCESS “MMC provided me with the education I needed to succeed in my profession along with the confidence needed to be successful in starting my own anesthesia company.”

When I was looking for an undergraduate college to study nursing, I was drawn to MMC because they were well known and trusted in that field of study. I loved the small, intimate learning environment and thrived while I was there. Because of my positive undergraduate experience, I knew that Mount Marty would be the best place to study anesthesia.

Students and staff members spent part of their Christmas break providing service to refugees in Indiana, Kentucky and Missouri. The group learned about their Catholic faith, the struggles of refugees, homelessness, and so much more. Every Tuesday evening at 9:30 pm, students gather in the Peace Chapel to pray the Rosary together.

SELF EMPLOYED CERTIFIED REGISTERED ANESTHETIST YANKTON, SOUTH DAKOTA

were an inspiration to me. Their

impact on me opened my eyes to how

diverse the nursing profession really is. They

instilled confidence in me and the mindset you

can do anything you want with a nursing degree.

After graduating from MMC with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, I spent two years as an RN in the ICU at Avera McKennan Hospital. I then entered the Nurse Anesthesia program at MMC and graduated in 2009 with an MS in Nurse Anesthesia.

Mount Marty Education students are taking part in a national competition to create the new model for America’s high schools. MOUNT MARTY COLLEGE RECEIVES REGIONAL RECOGNITION

After working at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital for four years, I knew it was time for me to challenge myself and open my own anesthetist company. I have been the sole anesthesia provider at Yankton Medical Clinic for the last 2 years! My future goals are to be more active in our state and national anesthesia associations. There are so many politics that surround the nursing profession and I would like to get more involved.

Washington Monthly listed MMC as a “Best Bang for the Buck” college for the third year in a row. Mount Marty College was one of only two South Dakota institutions listed in the Midwest Colleges category. In addition, US News and World Report listed Mount Marty College as number 47 in the Best Regional Colleges Midwest category. The ranking is based on academic excellence and what they view is important in quality education.
