Julio Lago, encargado de ilustrar, colorear y diagramar la obra, trabajó en el concepto. Mientras que Álvaro y Ranferí Aguilar, integrantes de Alux Nahual, decidieron aportar seis piezas cortas instrumentales que se incluyen en el soundtrack para acompañar la historia.

“Me gustó mucho la historia y cómo Juan Pablo tomó ideas de nuestras canciones para crear un mundo fantástico y transmitir nuestro mensaje en otro medio artístico. Creo que los seguidores de Alux Nahual pueden identificar el espíritu de nuestra música en esta obra”, enfatiza Álvaro Aguilar, vocalista y fundador de la agrupación.

Juan Pablo Mijangos is the author of a comic book that tells the story of the legend of the warrior. It includes a soundtrack of six songs composed and performed by members of the famous Alux Nahual band.

The author has worked for nine months to finalize the creation of a new manga-style graphic novel. Visual artist Julio Lago did the illustrations to create La Leyenda del Guerrero Jaguar (Jaguar, The Legend of the warrior). Juan Pablo Mijangos’s inspiration came from the lyrical richness of Alux Nahual’s songs.

“I have spent the last year preparing the story to respect the spirit of the band’s music: it speaks of brotherhood, respect for nature, and non-violence,” he says.

Gods and nature

“The lyrics of Alux Nahual are very rich in allegories and references. The jade dreams, the jaguar heart, the gods of wind and fire, and the dancing bats, among others. I took these allegories and created a universe where they could coexist,” said Julio Lago, in charge of the illustrations.

In charge of illustrating, coloring, and diagramming the work, Julio Lago worked on the concept. While Álvaro and Ranferí Aguilar, members of Alux Nahual, contributed six short instrumental pieces to the soundtrack to accompany the story.

“I liked the story and how Juan Pablo took ideas from our songs to create a fantastic world and convey our message in another artistic medium. I think Alux Nahual fans can identify the spirit of our music in this work,” emphasizes Álvaro Aguilar, vocalist and founder of the group.
