Woodland Splash comes alive

The under 4’s Woodland Splash has started to come alive with moulds of a fox, squirrel, otter and tree taking shape. Little ones will be able to adventure around the area looking for different types of wildlife during their visit to the leisure centre.

The idea of the area is to encourage and educate those aged from 0 to 4 years about water safety before moving on to the next stage of their swimming experience. It will be a fun space for both parents and children to enjoy.

The animal moulds have moved onto the next stage, and have now been painted ready for delivery.

Sleaford Leisure Centre will open it’s doors again to the public on 15 October 2013. Memberships are now available, offering both swim only and full active packages. See overleaf for further details.

For the first time in it’s history, the centre will be operating coin return lockers - saving you that little bit more on your visit.

Early Sunday Swimming Club Sleaford Leisure Centre is home to a variety of swimming clubs including The Early Sunday Swimming Club, who in 1984 began their journey of enjoying swimming as a group.

A small group of family and friends met on a weekly basis in order to socialise and encourage their children to enjoy swimming. Word got around about the meeting, which soon meant the small group had grown somewhat, encouraging founder member Alan Collick to source a private hire session for everyone who wanted to, to enjoy. Working with the

management team at the time, they agreed a time slot of 8am to 9am which will carry on when the refurbished centre opens its doors to the public.

Over 29 years many have taken part in the swimming session, gaining many new faces in the meantime and with hope of welcoming many more.

Alan Collick said: “We are looking forward immensely to the re-opening of the new facility.”

£10 Start-Up Fee until 15 October 2013

Join on any direct debit membership up until the opening day on 15 October 2013 and you will only pay a £10 start-up fee getting full use of the centre from opening.

The first child added onto a membership will pay £10 per month, but a second child can be added completely free.

Subsequent children added will incur the £10 monthly fee.

The Sleaford Leisure Centre Info Shop, Bristol Arcade, Sleaford is open; 11am to 4pm Mon-Fri and 9.30am to 12.30pm on a Saturday.
