Maker of the Lone Star® Brand Born in the deep pine forests of eastern Texas more than eight decades ago, Texas Farm Products Company began as one man’s dream. In the spring of 1930, M. S. Wright began building a company and a legacy that has grown to represent one of the oldest and most respected agricultural and pet food processing companies in the South. M. S. Wright selected Nacogdoches as the location to build his business without ever having seen the town. In 1930, Texas Fertilizer Company was founded. In 1931, the name was changed to Texas Farm Products Company and construction began on a new feed mill. That mill is still in use today, having had numerous additions, improvements, and modernizations over the years. As the small plant expanded production and grew, so did the company’s reputation for an unusual level of quality assurance and service to the customer. Reflecting Mr. Wright’s unwavering commitment to make the best product for the dollar and to deliver that product on time, the company soon established itself as one of the most service-conscious producers in the business. In 1978 the Lone Star brand was expanded and the newly built pet food plant began making Lone Star Pet Foods. Since that time, the pet food division has seen many changes and improvements, and has produced many other brands of pet foods including Star Pro Premium, ANF, and our own brand of premium and holistic pet foods, Precise. For over eighty years, experience has taught us that nobody cares more about pets and animals than their owners. They ask for quality products, friendly and helpful customer service, and competitive pricing. And we’ve spent years developing and refining our products to meet those high expectations. Our in-house laboratory assures all incoming ingredients are safe and nutritious. Each production run is thoroughly lab-tested to meet our specifications, which are designed to provide maximum palatability and nutrition and ensure the health of your animals. Today, Texas Farm Products is a fourth-generation company, known worldwide for the production of quality livestock feeds and pet foods. The company has developed a reputation of integrity that is generated by a large number of animal-loving employees, many of who have been devoted to the company for several decades. To keep pace with the ever-changing needs of their customers, new products continue to be developed. Texas Farm Products’ cutting edge research and development program is continually creating and monitoring new products that tomorrow may represent new standards within the industry. Though Texas Farm Products began as a modest vision more than eighty years ago, it has grown to represent much more today.
