Principles of Urban Design PL 236 The course is intended to cover all the basic principles, definitions, concepts and elements of urban design and their role in the process of urban development. In addition to the process and approaches needed at macro and micro levels, the traditional and current trends in urban design profession, Visual studies, spatial analysis and Conceptual design, Major elements and determinants of urban form and spaces. Requirements 1. Regular attendance and active participation 2. Oral assignments (e.g., brainstorming and presentations) 3. Written assignments (e.g., Research paper, Exercises,) 4. Mid-term examination. 5. Final examination.
