One of the ways that we honor our family members of those who have lost their love ones in the line of duty is to provide them an opportunity to connect with leadership, others with similar experiences, and their supportive team M&FRC. For the past four years we had our annual luncheon on the first Thursday in December and this has 12

proven to be a time for families, staff, and team, leaders to connect and say thanks!

Fulfill your Initial Counseling and Pre-separation briefing requirement at this mandatory briefing preferably 18 months before separating and 24 months prior to retiring, but mandated NLT 365 days before leaving the service.

November 29-30 | December 20-21 • 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. This new workshop is part of the Transition Program. It is a monthly workshop where Transitioning Service Members, Spouses, Retirees and Veterans can build a resume for a civilian or a federal job and learn interview techniques, salary negotiations and labor market information.

Marriage Financial Workshop

December 16 | 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Marriage introduces the couple to many new changes including financial adjustments. This workshop may assist a newly married airman and their spouse to organize their finances efficiently and work through many of the other changes that comes with their new status.

DOL Career and Credential Exploration Track (C2E)

December 27-28 | 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. The Department of Labor delivers a 2 day workshop to assist transitioning service members, veterans and spouses define career goals, identify required credentials, find career and technical training opportunities and identify resources.

Walk/Run Challenge December 5 - 9 In honor of the USSF Inaugural 10-miler taking place in Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, FL on 10 December, we will be having a 10-miler 5k Run/ Walk challenge that will take place all week. The goal is to run/ walk 10 miles in a week. You can either do it alone or with a partner. Trek Across America & California are self-paced programs that allow individuals to be rewarded when the goal is achieved. These year-round programs are based on an honor system. Worksheets are located in a folder by the front desk at the El Segundo and Fort MacArthur Fitness Centers to keep track of your mileage. Prizes are awarded when you reach highlighted landmarks along the map. If you participate in the Trek across California, you can transfer your mileage to the USA Trek starting from Amarillo, Texas. Modes of travel can be achieved through the following exercises: Treadmill, Bike, Stepper, Cross Trainer, Rower & Run/Walk.

(Ages 9-18) Provides recreational options for dependents of active duty, retired military, DoD employees, contractors, or residents living on base under a Tierra Vista lease contract. Wednesdays, 4 p.m. - 5 p.m. Giving Girls confidence! SMART Girls is a small-group health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls. Permission slips are required to participate in classes.

Coding Club (Ages 9-18)

Mondays, 4 p.m. - 5 p.m. Learn new skills or practice what you already know. Work in Python, Flowlab, Scratch, Khan Academy, or practice another platform of your choice.
