TOWN

HALL INFO

FAIR

This is a 6 week certification course for parents who have children that require an IEP. Parents will learn vital information, techniques, resources, advocacy, and strategies for improving the lives of autistic and developmentally disabled children. They will also learn how to identify other families in need and serve as mentors for those families. This is critical in the transient military community, where families often lack traditional support systems such as close-knit family, long-term friendships, and religious institutions. As trained parent advocates, they will receive ongoing training and support for effective community organizing and advocacy, ultimately striving for legislative change and policy shifts. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.

Do you have questions about enrolling your child in school? The Los Angeles Air Force Base School Liaison Officer (SLO) is here to help you find the answers you need. The average military family moves 9 to 12 times throughout K-12 education. With each move, military children face many school-related challenges. The School Liaison Officer is your advocate. California schools are responsible for California State learning standards. Each school’s academic performance Index (API) and climate survey can be found at http:// dq.cde.ca.gov/dataquest/

This is the time of season we can all look back and reflect on our many blessing. We appreciate what we have instead of obsessing

Online registration is strongly recommended. Preregistered families will receive priority placement in line and first selection. Walk-in registration is also available while toy supplies last. The Holiday Toy Giveaway will take place during the Holiday Jingle Mingle. Active duty and civilian military connected children are welcome.
