MW Skiing Skeeters Established in 1958, the M.W. Skiing Skeeters is one of the oldest amateur water ski clubs in the United States. The first statewide barefoot tournament held in the U.S. was sponsored by the Skiing Skeeters in 1964 and Manitowish Waters became known as the “Barefoot Capital of the Midwest.” The club continues to provide free shows for all ages to enjoy, mid-June through mid-August each Wednesday & Saturday at 7 p.m. at Rest Lake Park. Donations collected from the shows help with the club’s operating costs, new & replaced equipment, gas, boat maintenance, etc.
