Origins

A little more than 100 years ago, Carter G Woodson started Negro History week to teach people about the contributions of Black people which were usually forgotten or neglected. Now it's a celebration of Black people who’ve impacted the country and the world (BHM is also celebrated in countries like Canada, the UK, and Ireland) with their accomplishments and activism.
