SERVICE SPOTLIGHT By Jeana Monaco Averill Park High School Hi, my name is Jeana Monaco and I’m the president of Averill Park High School Key Club. I recently attended a Virtual Team Engagement Webinar during the month of June. The Pacific Northwest District and the New York District collaborated together to create an interactive bond and culture between club life and its members. Throughout the webinar, engaging elements were added. Polls, dance parties, breakout rooms and music made icebreakers easy to participate in during these different times. This interactive webinar was led by Swift Kick founder Tom Krieglstein. Tom was the keynote speaker at last year's LTC. Through this webinar, I got to meet so many new people and learn new tips and tricks to bring back to my home club. Even though there was limited room in the Zoom, kids kept joining and joining exceeding the numbers. There were so many Key Clubbers! Overall this was a great experience and I was happy to be a part of it.

ICON RECAP By Sophia Segal Division 3

This year, I attended the International Convention for the first time. Having this as a virtual event would have seemed to be a different experience, but I felt like I was there in person. I was truly able to understand what the event would have been like if it were live. One highlight of the event was attending the workshops. I went to Understanding Healthy Boundaries, Lieutenant Governor Training, Bystander Intervention, and Diversity and Inclusion. I really enjoyed each workshop and I was able to gain so much new information. Another part of the Convention that I liked a lot was hearing the remarks from the KCI leaders. They discussed organizations that they have worked with, but the most inspiring part was hearing how they overcame obstacles along the way of their careers. Going to this event was such an amazing experience, and I can’t wait to attend it again next year!
