The focus of this letter to you is going to be on harvest. As fall harvest draws near, this is the time when it all comes together — all the hard work and investment you have made begins to pay off. Harvest is the time when you find out what has worked well ....

And, what has not worked so well.

Data is the fuel that drives your operation. At a minimum, most all of you track what you use, what you grow, what you spend and what you earn and know where you are going. Every day, you manage a lot of details: seed varieties, machine logistics fuel usage, fertilizer application, tillage techniques, labor scheduling, water use, herbicide applications... the list just goes on and on.

You have high- and low-tech options for managing your data ranging from notebooks and ledgers to digital tools and apps that help you collect, share and analyze data from and for your operation. Whether you are totally new to digital technology, somewhat familiar, or a master, digital tools can help you solve both basic and complex problems. At a minimum, they can simplify and automate your record keeping or used at full force, they can help you evaluate and improve your farm’s performance.

MyDealer Customer Portal These days, it’s a necessity to be able to access invoices, order parts, and manage a fleet in one location, and have that information available whenever and wherever it’s needed. 21st Century Equipment is always looking for ways to better serve customers and is excited to offer the new MyDealer customer portal.

MyDealer is a free tool that customers can access through the 21st Century Equipment website. There’s no app to download and there are no emails to sign up for. Customers simply request a MyDealer account; those who previously took advantage of 21st Century Equipment’s former electronic invoicing system, eServices, already have a MyDealer account set up with the same username and password.

So why use MyDealer? Here are the four primary ways customers can manage their operation in the MyDealer customer portal.

Fleet Management In the “My Equipment” section of MyDealer, customers will see all machines in their 21st Century Equipment account. They can also add machines and manage their fleet, all within the portal.

For every piece of equipment in the system, customers can request service and add service history on a machine, update its hours, indicate when they’re ready to sell or trade the machine, and remove a machine from their account when it’s no longer in the fleet. Customers who rent machines can also view all equipment they currently have out on rent.

The fleet management functionality extends beyond existing machines in a fleet; customers looking to buy new, used, or rental

Parts Management Ordering parts is fast, easy, and secure through MyDealer.

Parts orders are sent to and fulfilled at a customer’s assigned store, and can either be picked up or shipped.

When shopping for parts in MyDealer, customers can find and buy virtually any part 21st Century Equipment offers by entering the part number. John Deere customers can look up parts in John Deere Parts Advisor, and then securely order within the MyDealer portal.

Customers can check order status, see recent parts purchases, and even create and save shopping lists for easy reference and reordering of frequently needed parts.

Invoice Management In the MyDealer portal, customers can view, email, or download past invoices, as well as see account balance information. Missing invoices aren’t an issue, as the option to search by date range can easily locate an invoice from any time period.

Invoice management in MyDealer is improved and much more efficient compared to eServices or paper invoicing.

21st Century named a Farm Equipment magazine 2020 “Best-in-Class” dealer

StarFire™ Receiver 20-2 Mandatory Update Available for Download Now: the StarFire™ 20-2 software update. This software update, unlike many others, is a “Mandatory Update” for both StarFire 6000 and StarFire 3000 receivers and includes software fixes plus a few new features. The most important part of the 20-2 software update is that it positions the current StarFire 6000 and StarFire 3000 receivers to continue operating into the future. Changes coming with the 20-2 software update also prepare the StarFire network to support new satellite constellations and the next generation StarFire receiver.

February 1, 2021 will be the deadline to have all StarFire 6000 and StarFire 3000 receivers updated to version 20-2 software. Receivers not updated by this time will not receive the StarFire signal and as such will only operate in WASS until updated to 20-2 which does not enable guidance applications. Further, receivers which are not updated to version 20-2 software which are accessing the 21st Century Equipment RTK network for RTK differential corrections will not function after the base stations are

updated to 20-2 software which we anticipate to take place in the early December 2020 timeframe.

As a reminder – all StarFire iTC receivers using a Starfire correction signal will no longer function beginning February 1, 2021 (no software update available). Further, once the 21st Century Equipment RTK network base stations are updated to 20-2 software – which we anticipate to take place in the early December 2020 timeframe – StarFire iTC receivers accessing the network will no longer function on RTK. StarFire iTC receivers will continue to operate in WAAS until approximately 2026 or when the US GPS satellite constellation P(Y) code is retired and may continue to be used for documentation purposes in very specific conditions, but all guidance applications including AutoTrac™ will not be available after February 1, 2021.

Effective February 1, 2021:

All StarFire 6000 and StarFire 3000 receivers must have been updated to software version 20-2 to function and all StarFire iTC receivers stop receiving StarFire signal

Local Success Breeds Confidence While Lacey Taylor started as the 4-H Area Extension Agent in the Southeast Area, Cheyenne County, Colorado, a little more than a year ago, she is no stranger to 4-H. Lacey grew up on a commercial cow-calf operation outside of Walsenburg, Colorado.

Initially, she took part with an Independent Membership in 4-H but eventually joined at the Club level, when Independent Memberships were dropped within the organization. As a Club Member, Lacey gained confidence, as she showed her commercial cow-calves against the pure breed cow-calves. Lacey performed well and was proud to show off her family’s commercial calf crop.

One of the most recent success stories in Cheyenne Wells was the dinner this past December at the Cheyenne County Community Building. The event celebrated Cheyenne County, where the 4-H kids served “tasty treats that are found in our backyard.” 4-H focused on the facts that Cheyenne County was set up in 1889, had a population of 1,848, and 107,562 acres in farmland with 76 percent crop production and 24 percent livestock production. Lacey used this opportunity to show kids the impact agricultural producers have locally, statewide and nationally. Lacey says “The average age of an agriculture producer is in their sixties today and kids always feel that they want to leave for the big city.” Lacey wants “to show kids how much producers have an impact on their lives, no matter what path they take in their lives.” Cheyenne County Night Out is scheduled to be held again in December 2020, pending COVID-19 county guidelines.

That experience helped Lacey gain the confidence necessary to take on leadership roles and more responsibility within 4-H. That same confidence carried on to college, where Lacey earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Communications, and Journalism at Kansas State University and a Bachelor and a Master of Agriculture Concentration Extension from Colorado State University.

4-Hers to find the confidence and courage to follow One goal is to get kids interacting with local officials, their own dreams. state Senators, and going to Washington D.C. “When 4-H in Cheyenne Wells is flourishing, despite the COVID-19 challenges going on. Lacey says, “When the virus hit in March and April, it didn’t affect us as much because we are in a bit of a lull until Club activity kicks in around June and July.” But, 4-H isn’t just about the shows. Lacey also handles School Outreach, Day Camps, Overnight Camps and before & after school outreach.

The programs have not missed a beat as Lacey has used her own creativity and connections to supply robust virtual programs for the kids. Lacey says, “We recently partnered with other educators and took the kids on a virtual tour of the Louvre in Paris, France!” Lacey has found many creative ideas for new activities during this global crisis. But, she adds, “Right now, our biggest

kids do these activities and meet people leading at the local, state and national level, they see how things are intertwined and how their actions can make a difference.”

National and State 4-H budgets have seen a huge reduction in funds because of COVID-19. However, according to Lacey, “Our local 4-H programs are in great shape thanks to a wonderful dedicated community!”

Giving to 4-H but transitioning to the local level, as 21st Century Equipment has done, allows these local 4-H organizations to add more local programs, like the community outreach programs Lacey conducts in Cheyenne Wells.

Rope Anders has joined the Alliance, NE team as a new Student Technician. He is originally from Crawford, NE where he recently graduated from high school.

Rope will be attending the John Deere Tech program at SECC. He has previous work experience on his family ranch, where he has repaired their personal machinery. In his free time, Rope likes to work on old vehicles, go to rodeos and hang out with friends & family.

Technology Specialist Burlington, CO Location

Hayden Fox is our new Technology Specialist at our Burlington, CO location. He was born and raised in Kersey, CO and attended NW KS Technical College after graduating from Platte Valley High in Kersey.

Hayden’s previous work experience includes 4.5 years with a large farmer in CO followed by additional work with 2 other farmers after moving to Goodland. In his free time, Hayden likes to hunt and take side-by-sides and four wheelers to the Sand Dunes.

Morgyn Johnson Student Technician Burlington, CO Location

Morgyn Johnson is a new Student tech at our Burlington, CO location.

She is a recent high school graduate from Eads High School in her hometown. Morgyn has lived and worked on a ranch her entire life, and has experience working with cattle and horses. In her free time, Morgyn enjoys working with horses and reading books.

Six students joined us for the summer.

They were positioned across our AOR working on projects within our parts, service, ISG, and sales departments.

21st Century Equipment announces organizational changes Owen Palm, CEO, of 21st Century Equipment announced organizational changes effective July 1, 2020 in order to focus on localized management. Owen says, “these changes came after a lot of thought and driven by our commitment to continuous improvement to serve our customers better at the local level.”

21st Century Equipment will go from four districts to three districts by expanding the geographical area of the districts.

The South District will continue to be led by Russ Ball. Russ is responsible for Cheyenne Wells, Flagler, Burlington, and now Yuma and Wray.

At the location level, Rod Bailey will now be responsible for managing the Flagler location, in addition to continuing his management responsibilities for Yuma.

The new Central District will be led by District Manager, Tyler Burkholder. Tyler is responsible for Ogallala, Imperial, Holyoke, and now Sterling and Fort Morgan locations. Steve Nelson will assist Tyler Burkholder as the new Location Manager for Ogallala.

The new North District will be led by District Manager, Lloyd Harding. Bridgeport, Sidney, and now Gordon, Alliance, Scottsbluff and Torrington are Lloyd’s responsibility. Chad Schneider, currently the Sales Manager for our irrigation division, will be the new Location Manager for Torrington. Prior to getting into the irrigation business in 2005, Chad was a salesman for several years for Frank Implement in Torrington and is very familiar with customers in that area. In addition, 21st Century Equipment has added Kenneth “Ernie” Ewing to the organization as the new Scottsbluff Location Manager. For the last ten years, Ernie was Operations Parts and Service Manager for Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Tracker Marine Centers across the United States.

Casey Seymour will now lead the Bridgeport store. Casey has had a strong background having held key positions at Foley Equipment, a major CAT dealership based out of Wichita, KS; Prairieland John Deere in central Kansas; and held the remarketing position at 21st Century Equipment.

On the Parts and Service side of the business, Steve Jones has been promoted to Corporate Parts Manager. Steve will report to Wayne Brozek, VP, Parts and Service. Replacing Casey as the Vice President of Sales will be Terry Gass. Terry joined 21st Century Equipment five years ago and recently served as the North District Manager, before that, VP, Marketing. Terry has also held various positions at John Deere Corporate for fifteen years.

Palm says, “these changes put each of our locations in a strong position for local-based management with strong District Managers, VP of Sales and COO, Keith Kreps as back up to serve all of our customer needs.”

Noel “Angel” Medina is a new Student Technician at our Cheyenne Wells, CO location. He is a recent graduate from Eads, CO and has several years’ of farm experience. In his free time, Angel likes to play video games and hang out with friends.

Kyle Underwood Service Technician Imperial, NE Location

Kyle Underwood has joined our Imperial, NE location as a new Service Technician. Kyle is originally from Bird City, KS and attended Northwest KS Technical School. His work background includes Wagner Chevrolet and Harchelroad Motors. In his free time, Kyle likes to golf and ride his motorcycle.

Student Technician Flagler, CO Location

Nate Samora is a new Student Technician at our Flagler, CO location.

He is originally from Cope, CO and attended Arickaree High School. Nate previously worked at Cecil Ranch, and in his free time he likes to hunt, fish, and work on his pickup.

Brent Slaubaugh Sales team Holyoke, CO Location

Brent Slaubaugh has joined the Sales team at our Holyoke, CO location. He is originally from Bismark, ND and has pervious work experience in farming and with John Deere sales at RDO Equipment. In his free time, Brent likes to play poker and hunt.

William Bittner Student Technician Imperial, NE Location

William Bittner is a new Student Technician at our Imperial, NE location. William attended Prior Lake High School in MN, where he is from.

His previous work experience is with Apple Antos. In his free time, William likes to go fishing.

Tyler Talbott has joined the Service Team in Utility position at our Imperial, NE location. He is originally from the area and attended UNL. Mariah Bengtson has joined the Support Center Staff in Scottsbluff, NE as a new Finance Generalist. She is originally from Centennial, CO and recently graduated from the University of NE with a degree in finance and an Ag Econ minor. Mariah is engaged and planning a February wedding, and in her free time she enjoys doing DIY projects around the house and spending time with friends and family.

John Crain has returned to our Flagler, CO location as a Salesman.

Originally from Kansas, John attended KSU and has 27 years’ experience in equipment sales. John has a wife and 2 kids, as well as 4 grandchildren. In his free time, he likes to train horses and travel.

Joseph Stratton is a new Detail Specialist at our Ogallala, NE location. He is originally from Julesburg, CO but went to Leesburg High School & Lake Technical Center, both in Florida.

Ken “Ernie” Ewing has joined the Scottsbluff, NE team as their new Location Manager.

Ken is originally from Sidney, NE and is a graduate of Colorado State University with a BS in Ag Education. Ernie has previously worked as Cabela’s/ Bass Pro Shops Corporate Retail Operation’s Parts and Service Manager supporting 130 Tracker Marine Boat Centers. He also was Cabela’s International Logistics and Domestic Freight Manager, as well as a Location Manager for Valley Implement in Sidney, NE. Ernie and his wife, Tracey, have two daughters: Paxton of Rushville, NE and Katelynn of Wynnewood, OK. In his free time he likes to Antique Tractor Pull, hunt, camp, fish, go ATVing, and take advantage of any excuse to be outside.
