The Mayor of Eastleigh’s Youth Award for volunteering 2019 – supported by Eastleigh Lions and One Community For young people aged 11-18.

Silver award for at least 50 hours volunteering over 12 months.

Gold award for at least 100 hours over 12 months.

The Council is keen to acknowledge the voluntary work carried out by young people in the Borough.

Nominations are now being sought for the 2019 Youth Awards.

A gold award is for at least 100 hours of volunteering in the previous 12 months (from date of nomination).

Volunteering would include helping older people, being a carer for family or friends, fundraising for a good cause, taking a role in an organisation like the Scouts, helping in school etc.

To nominate someone please use the form on the back page or go to the One Community website.

Young people can be nominated for either a gold or silver award.

Eligibility Criteria Nomination Form for Eastleigh Youth Award 2016 • You must have known the young person you nominate for more than 6 months.

• You must not be related to the young person.

• The young person must either live in the Borough of Eastleigh or undertake the activity they are being recognised for in the Borough of Eastleigh.

• They must be under the age of 19 on 1 June 2019.

• The young person must know they are being nominated and why.

• Their parent/carer must be aware of the nomination.

Activities The award is to recognise the voluntary work of young people in the Borough.

We are keen to recognise those young people who regularly volunteer and to acknowledge the invaluable contribution of all young volunteers.

A silver award is for at least 50 hours of volunteering in the previous 12 months (from date of nomination).

Activities can include formal or informal volunteering roles.
