DELIVERY FRIENDLY RESTAURANT Involution, unlike evolution, is a social phenomenon that produces "voluntary" competitive behavior. It is manifested as a process of self-sustainment and replication in the same field and constant self-consumption. With the rise of the platform economy, the number of takeaway delivery workers continues to grow, and its employment pattern has not received enough attention, and delivering takeaway is a race against death. At present, the restaurant form can no longer meet the use scenarios in the context of the platform economy, so I create a "new restaurant" by re-planning the path of the restaurant use scenario. On the moving line, I distinguished between the existing customer dining line and the takeaway food moving line, improved the delivery time, and set up the takeaway food cabinet /battery car charging pile, and set up a special dining area for takeaway workers/ corridor rest area / washroom / rest position. In addition, I tried to optimize the APP port, while improving efficiency, reducing the danger of the takeaway profession and simplifying the process. In this project, I considered multiple takeholders in the takeaway industry, including merchants, platforms, delivery workers and user dimensions, trying to spatially cope with the continuous involution of the takeaway industry.

IN - VOLUTION "IN" means "inward". The original meaning of "VOLUTION" is "vortex" and "spiral," that is, "volume".

内 卷 DEFINITION n.

The term "INVOLUTION" is derived from Clifford Geertz's "involution" in 1963. After a social or cultural model reaches a certain form at a certain stage of development, it stagnates or cannot be transformed into another advanced model.

Design Process

I build conceptual models that represent the idea of “involution.“ Then I combined a few ideas together to create a more coherent space. and gradually adjust my model for the final result.

Alzheimer's Housing Design Alzheimer's disease is a degenerative disease of the nervous system with an insidious onset. When the condition worsens, the patient is often disconnected from the family or society, and suffer with their last days of lives. With the increasing aging, there are currently at least 50 million AD patients in the world. This residential project aims to design corresponding spatial functions at different stages of the disease. My observzasion shows that the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease are divided into three main stages, hence the space is constructed by the basic neurons and three layers of protection. As the disease develops, the patient’s need for external help increases. The form and function are also becoming more complicated to resist memory loss and help patients delay neurodegeneration.

Macau Fati Matang District In Macau's Huadi Ma Tang District, 11.1% of the elderly population aged 65 and above, and the ageing index rose by 1.1 percentage points yearon-year to 84.1%, the 22nd consecutive year of increase. The dependency ratio of the elderly population in Macao is 19.2%, that is, about 5 adults support 1 elderly population, and the aging trend of the population is obvious. 。。

Regional distribution of Alzheimer's disease in China Alzheimer’s disease accounts for 79.76% of urban patients, 11.04% of rural patients, and 9.19% of rural patients.

Global distribution of dementia mortality rates in 2021: The "World Report on Alzheimer's Disease 2018" currently has at least 50 million dementia patients. It is estimated that this number will reach 150 million in 2050, and 60%-70% are AD patients. The number of AD patients in China exceeds 10 million, which is the country with the largest number of AD patients in the world. It is estimated that the number of patients will exceed 30 million by 2050

Design Process I tried to present the loss and twist of memory through spatial elements. Each red square is a memory unit. The white volume is the resistance to memory loss. As the disease worsens, the control method through self and external treatment gradually increases, and the memory is also distorted and lost as the stage goes on.

Under the impact of modern urbanization, the decline of rural areas has become an unavoidable practical problem. In Dayun Town, Jiaxing, near Xiluobang and east-west Lijiabang, there are four old granaries. They were built in the 1950s and 1960s. They were formerly used as grain warehouses for local residents to store rice. Later, they were burned and abandoned for several years.I hope to transform the hotel through the granary and inject Chinese traditional folk arts, so that people in the city can return to the countryside and feel the local culture.

I used the traditional materials of the Chinese countryside, fabric/bamboo fence and old wood to emphasize the feeling of nature. Through the combination of different oriental materials, I described an atmosphere that is not common to seen in city.

Old and new conversation I use modern technology to re-finish the texture of the wood and the combination of the ancient blue brick material after the historical precipitation of the old granary, resulting in a dialogue of history and a contrast between the old and the new.

Wheat field playing Outside the dining area of Daohua Restaurant, I built a performance space for wheat field barbecue and wheat field symphony. In the evening sunset of the Granary Hotel, the dining crowd was accompanied by the melodious symphony in the wheat field, and the emotions were slowly brought into the potential field of the granary with the notes.

DOOMSDAY With the development of science and technology in human society, the understanding of the earth and the universe continues to deepen, and we gradually realize that when a major disaster strikes, every human individual appears very small. After extending the human development timeline, we may face unsolvable dilemmas, so I hope to deal with the disasters that may occur in the future by designing doomsday places. Through my design, the different needs of the apocalypse are integrated, the shelter is used to protect human beings in the event of a disaster, the gene bank responds to the extinction and rebirth of all plants and animals after the disaster, the escape cabin responds to the impending destruction of the earth, and the tools for human beings to migrate as a last resort, as well as disasters Devices that detect and communicate as humanity's last line of defense against apocalyptic crises.

Doomsday is a concept that assumes that humanity will encounter a global catastrophic event in the future, leading to the destruction, regression or decline of modern civilization, also known as the end of the world. And any event that can cause human extinction or permanently impair human development can be called a crisis of human existence. Potential global catastrophe crises include various natural and man-made disasters. Among them, natural disasters include asteroid impacts, super volcanic eruptions, gamma-ray bursts, climate change, magnetic storms, plagues, or the destruction of electronic equipment around the world, etc.

The Himalayas are located between China and India. The geographical location is very remote, the climate is harsh and cold, and there are few people. This is the hometown of snow leopards. There are more than 3,000 snow leopards on the island, more than people. These unfavorable factors for human habitation can keep the "DNA library" away from various external threats. K2 is the main peak of the Karakoram Mountains, with a cold climate and permafrost. It is also a natural refrigerator, which can keep DNA in a low temperature environment, which is very suitable for long-term storage of DNA without being affected by temperature changes
