SCHOOL HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES AT HADDON Children enjoyed two free workshops by renowned textile artist Prue Simmons at the Haddon Learning Centre on January 20th. Prue is one of just a handful of people in Australia who practice “saori,” a traditional form of Japanese weaving and also “Bengala” dyeing. She uses “Bengala Earth Dyes” and other natural dyes to produce gorgeous textiles in a variety of designs and colours. The children produced some amazing pieces of work in their four hours and they also enjoyed a light lunch. These programs are provided free by the Golden Plains Shire and the Haddon Community Learning Centre. International Women's Day March 8th , 2015 A FREE publication for the more than 11,000 people who live in the Woady Yaloak District. The Woady Yaloak Herald is available to households in Haddon, Nintingbool, Cardigan Village, Smythes Creek, parts of Alfredton and is generally available for collection at General Stores in Smythesdale, Scarsdale, Ross Creek, Linton, Cape Clear, Snake Valley and through the Woady Yaloak campus.
