Insulation with Cocona® technology provides proven wear comfort in cold conditions with high insulation values at a favorable price point. Cocona technology works to keep insulation drier by accelerating the conversion of liquid water that can condense on the insulation during use into vapor that can readily exit the system. It does this by way of the high surface area and body-heat absorbing properties of the Cocona® polyester fibers that accelerate breathability and drying. Drier insulation = more insulation value = warmer athletes.

Cocona® insulation can be part of a highly effective technical winter clothing system that has a very high rate of moisture removal.

In a Cocona® layering system, the inner-most Cocona® baselayer (or glove liner) acts as a liquid-to-vapor pump. As liquid sweat interacts with the baselayer, it is then spread and efficiently converted to water vapor that now passes into the insulation. This vapor then is actively “siphoned” and pulled into the Cocona membrane through the Cocona technology functional layer on the membrane which accelerates conversion into vapor and out of the shell.

This dynamic push-pull effect allows for efficient removal of moisture from the system. The combination of all three parts work together to prevent moisture condensation, regulate body heat production while maximizing removal of moisture produced from the body.

In a glove product, the 3-part Cocona system (lining, insulation, WPB insert) has received over 95% “love it/best glove ever worn” ratings from brand, retailer and consumer testers.
