Silesian Univeristy of Technology, Gliwice
Bachelor of Engineering
During my architectural studies, I had the opportunity to work on diverse projects encompassing both urbanistic and architectural design, spanning various scales. I successfully contributed to the realization of projects ranging from single-family homes to multi-story residential and public utility buildings. In particular, I was involved in urbanistic endeavors that focused on the revitalization of former industrial areas and the design of residential neighborhoods.

about me
Hi,
I’m Zuzanna Krzyśka, a Polish architecture student seeking an internship opportunity to enhance my knowledge and experience.
I’m currently studying Architecture at Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, Poland. Throughout my academic journey, I have actively pursued diverse projects in urban planning, architecture, technical papers, and construction details drawing. My success at the university has led to my participation in a few competitions and recognition in upcoming publications.
I’m proficient in software such as AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, and Adobe Suite, allowing me to translate concepts into precise and visually appealing representations. I have independently developed my software skills through self-learning at home, so learning new software wouldn’t be a burden for me.
My dedication lies in user-centered design, with a focus on creating spaces that promote well-being, equal opportunities, and environmental responsibility. I also constantly strive to integrate green design principles into my projects.
But, most importantly, what drives me during the design process is people. I want to challenge myself to incorporate the diverse needs and possibilities of individuals into my work. I firmly believe that well-designed cities and buildings have the power to change people’s lives. As architects and urbanists, we have a lot to contribute.
I’m eager to apply my knowledge, skills, and beliefs through an internship. I’m excited to learn from experienced professionals, contribute to meaningful projects, and gain hands-on experience in all aspects of the architectural process. In this internship, my primary focus is on learning and growth.
Thank you for taking the time to explore my portfolio. I’m open to discussing potential internship opportunities or answering any questions you may have. Feel free to reach out to me at [zuzakrzyska@gmail.com or zuzakrz369@student.polsl.pl]. I’m looking forward to connecting with you!

The people are attached to their place of residence and remain in good neighborly relations. The number of young people is decreasing.
They lack work centers, which contributes to poverty, low living standards and unemployment. There are no places to be creative and having fun. Lack of possible forms of recreation and uninteresting common spaces.
Residents suffer from low quality of buildings, roads and low availability of utilities.

FRIENDLY FOR THE SENIORS AND PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
Olkusz, POLAND
The complex of two residential buildings promotes social and health development for all its residents. The surrounding track provides safety for jogging at any time of the day and is accessible to people of all ages, both young and old.
On the second floor, there is a sports area that includes a tennis court, a table tennis table, a billiard table, gymnastic bars, sports machines, a resting area, and a playground for children, catering to the convenience of parents. This space is also equipped with changing rooms and toilets.
Residents can also access fresh air through balconies and terraces that run along the track.

The residents also have access to a small clinic on the ground floor of the building, as well as common rooms where they can spend time together and fulfill the need for socialization, which is increasingly challenging in the age of technology.
The apartments are diverse, allowing families with children, singles, childless couples, elderly individuals, persons with disabilities, and those requiring additional
care to find a suitable place for themselves.
The complex is equipped with an underground parking lot, which also includes storage units for each apartment. Access to the parking lot is available through staircases and an elevator from each staircase.
On the ground floor of each of the two buildings, there is a room for household waste and a bicycle storage room.

Analysis of Urban Structure OF
MY HOME TOWN, KĘDZIERZYN-KOŹLE
The analysis of the city’s structure was created as a booklet describing its various layers: physical, social, landscape, historical, and emotional. The whole included chapters such as:
1. General characteristics
2. Historical analysis of the city’s development

3. Analysis of the city’s physical structure
4. Analysis of the urban landscape
5. Analysis of land use
6. Analysis of the transportation and engineering system
7. Analysis of the natural system
8. Analysis of public spaces
9. Egalitarianism, territoriality, public life, social control, and safety
10. Analysis of land values, real estate market, and housing
11. SWOT analysis
12. Analysis of the city’s development strategy
I present a greatly condensed version, omitting many of these topics. Social relationships are more difficult to describe and define, especially in a graphical representation. Although I devoted a lot of attention to them, I present a smaller amount of these topics here.
1. General information
General characteristics
Voivodeship: Opolskie

County: kędzierzyńsko-kozielski

Community: Kędzierzyn-Koźle
Area: 123,4 km2
Population: 52 723
Density of populations: 477 people/km2
The Significance of Kędzierzyn-Koźle in the Context of Europe
Kędzierzyn-Koźle is located in the Oder Valley, which serves as the main axis of socio-economic development in the region, concentrating its largest socio-economic potential, as well as being an ecological hub crucial in the national and European system of natural areas. Additionally, it is situated within the boundaries of an international ecological corridor. This region falls within the III transport corridor, between two metropolitan areas: Wrocław and Upper Silesia, both having significant socio-economic potential at the national and European levels.
The Significance of Kędzierzyn-Koźle in the Context of the Country
In the Concept of Spatial Development of the country, the area of the city of KędzierzynKoźle is designated as a functional urban area of a subregional center. The designation of functional areas for subregional centers aims to create functional connections with metropolitan functional areas and around regional centers. The concept also includes the protection of the historic spatial layout of Koźle, which is listed in the national register of monuments. Additionally, Kędzierzyn-Koźle is home to one of the two Inland Navigation Schools in Poland. The city also has internationally significant railway lines:
No. 136 connecting Opole to Kędzierzyn-Koźle, No. 137 connecting Katowice to Legnica, and No. 151 connecting Kędzierzyn-Koźle to Chałupki.
The Significance of Kędzierzyn-Koźle in the Context of the Province
It is the second-largest city in the Opole Voivodeship in terms of population and area. Kędzierzyn-Koźle serves as a regional transportation hub.

Analysis of Urban Structure
2. History
Summary
The biggest development in Kędzierzyn-Koźle occurred in Phase IV when the city could continue its growth due to the dismantling of fortifications. The opening of new factories and industrial centers also contributed to driving the economy. During this time, the population increased, and worker settlements were established in Blachownia and Azoty to accommodate workers and their families. Kędzierzyn began to develop with the construction of a railway line and the Kłodnica Canal. Koźle gained a port of national and European significance.
In the next phase, four urban centers and surrounding areas and villages were merged into one center, Kędzierzyn-Koźle. Over time, the port in Koźle lost significance, as did the industrial centers, which gradually led to depopulation and a loss of economic importance in the region.

In recent years, Kędzierzyn-Koźle has not experienced significant turning points in its economy and culture. The chemical plants in Azoty and Blachownia remain the largest employers in the region, maintaining a level of stagnation in the city. However, the construction of a railway line provided residents with the opportunity to relocate to other towns that may seem more attractive to them. The lack of development opportunities for young people, attractive job prospects, and limited cultural offerings directly contribute to the depopulation of the city. At the moment, there are no signs of this changing.
Koźle stands out among the other neighborhoods in Kędzierzyn in terms of its rich cultural and historical heritage. It is one of the oldest settlements in Poland, but it does not actively preserve these traditions. The cultural and historical values of the area do not actively impact the lives of residents or make the city more attractive for living or visiting.
3. Phisical structure
4. City Landscape

4.1. The “curve of sensation” method

We also analyzed the urban landscape using the method of impression curves. The evaluation was conducted from the perspective of two individuals, including myself. We took a walk along the most important artery of Kędzierzyn- Koźle, namely Kozielska Street and Jana Pawła II Avenue. As residents of this city, we had different feelings about the spaces depending on the neighborhood we passed through, often based on childhood memories associated with those areas. Nevertheless, we can observe a certain consistency in our impressions on the graph. Our highly subjective ratings are similar. From this, we can infer that certain universal features of the landscape influence our well-being or discomfort in the space. The highest ratings were given to areas with well-maintained green spaces that are actively used by residents and have a clear structure. The lowest rating was given to the pedestrian crossing over the railway viaduct, which, despite the painted flowers on the walls [:)], is a narrow, very noisy, dark, and unsafe space. Unfortunately, there is no alternative route to bypass this viaduct.
4.2. Kevin Lynch’s 5 criterias

4. City Landscape Analysis of Urban Structure

4.3 Mental maps by
Kevin LynchMALE/58
Another way of defining a city is through mental maps, which are created in the minds of each individual, formed by distinctive landmarks, places of memories, showing the places we frequently visit or a clear layout including services, home, etc.
I asked my close ones to draw such maps and labeled
them with the gender and age of each person. We can see that each of them perceives the city differently. Some drew green spaces, others only roads, some depicted a broader context, while others focused on specific neighborhoods. The main axis of the city, running along Kozielska Street and Jana Pawła Avenue, appears repeatedly in these

drawings. Only one person drew people, including cyclists. We also notice that the most sentimental maps were created by younger individuals.
This study shows that each of us perceives the city differently based on our own experiences.

2022 COMMUS
DOUBLE ATRIAL SINGLE-FAMILY HOUSES Gliwice, POLAND
This single-family atrial housing project aims to create a place of social integration with the surrounding environment. The idea was to create a community, as reflected in the name. The development separates itself from the street with a monumental wall, while inside it creates a unique
space conducive to neighborly activities. The place is designed to accommodate a garden, greenhouses, a children's play area, bicycle racks, an elevator to the underground parking, as well as a small park with hammocks and resting areas. The development consists of 7 houses, each with 2
atria: smaller and larger. The facade is composed of steel profiles that allow fragments of light to enter the interior through significant glazing, while maintaining privacy by not revealing the heart of the building. Each house has an exit towards the square.
