Zuster is Dutch for sister. In design terms, Zuster symbolises a legacy of quality Australian design and craftsmanship that embraces five generations of Dutch family heritage. Today, sisters Wilhelmina McCarroll and Fleur Sibbel draw on Zuster’s hand-crafting expertise to forge a signature approach that is distinctive in its beauty and refinement.

Exceptional craftsmanship combined with bespoke detailing and intuitive function infuses the Zuster collection with provenance and heirloom appeal. Drawing on the sisters’ shared passion for fashion, art and furniture, Zuster’s furniture and homewares collection is notable for its exquisite detailing and refined finishing. Our company, like our furniture, is built upon five generations of design heritage. Each and every item we produce is designed with intention: an heirloom for future generations to cherish and enjoy. We achieve this by staying local.

Materiality Only the highest quality timber is used, and a durable long-lasting finish applied.

As leaders in sustainable, locally produced furniture we are reducing our impact on the environment by producing local for locals. We are proud to use a majority of local suppliers and maintain our own manufacturing facilities within Australia. This allows us to support our local economy. while also eliminating complex logistics and minimising transportation of products.

Introducing our newest designs

Adorn My ambition revolved around crafting a range of furniture adorned with captivating details. I embarked on a mission to conceive something genuinely distinctive, capable of completely elevating an interior space while infusing it with opulence and character.

Taking inspiration from the world of fashion, I drew parallels to the process of assembling a captivating outfit. Just as tailored attire can be transformed with intricate embellishments, I visualised our new collection as clean canvases, embellished with striking accents that mirror the allure of fine jewelry. This fusion of fashion finesse and impeccable craftsmanship led me to explore numerous couture dresses and jewelry pieces, ultimately resulting in handles that harmonised seamlessly with the nuanced charm of the cabinets.

The outcome is a collection where each piece serves as a testament to the seamless blend of functionality and artistic expression. By infusing contemporary fashion concepts with the practical needs of modern living spaces, I aimed not merely to reshape rooms, but to ignite a movement of reimagined aesthetics. This design odyssey paints a story of innovation, sophistication, and an unwavering commitment to reshaping the spaces we inhabit into inspiring havens of modern design.
