Festiwal ŻUBROFFKA zaczyna drugą dekadę swojego istnienia. Ponownie zagości z filmowymi pokazami w Białymstoku i ośmiu innych podlaskich miejscowościach, odwiedzi kina, galerie, ośrodki kultury i kluby, licea i białostocki uniwersytet, miejski stadion i Pałac Branickich. Na pewno będzie co oglądać, bo w tym roku do ośmiu konkursów zgłoszono rekordową ilość prawie dwóch tysięcy filmów, z których ostatecznie widzowie zobaczą 121 najciekawszych. Oceni je nie tylko międzynarodowe jury, ale także festiwalowa publiczność. W tym roku Festiwal debiutuje z nowym konkursem eksperymentu i video-artu. Liczę, że spotka się on z dużym zainteresowaniem widzów. Jak zwykle przygotowaliśmy także specjalne projekcje krótkich filmów z całego świata, w tym z takich krajów, jak Armenia, Iran, Meksyk, Indie i Kanada. W programie mamy także koncerty, spotkania z twórcami, wystawy, panele dyskusyjne i warsztaty. Jak zawsze szykujemy mocne rozpoczęcie Festiwalu: podczas otwarcia, legenda dubstepu Kode9 zagra na żywo do filmu Szantaż, który wyreżyserował mistrz suspensu, Alfred Hitchcock. A skoro zaczynamy hitchcockowskim trzęsieniem ziemi, mam nadzieję, że napięcie będzie rosło aż do ostatniego dnia Festiwalu i ceremonii wręczenia nagród, którą uświetni pokaz nagrodzonych filmów. Jestem bardzo ciekawa, który film zdobędzie w tym roku Grand Prix, a który Nagrodę Publiczności, czyli Dzikiego Żubra? O tym przekonamy się już 11 grudnia. Serdecznie zapraszam! ŻUBROFFKA Festival enters its second decade. Again, we are going to show our films in Bialystok and eight other Podlasian towns and villages, with screenings at cinemas, art galleries, cultural centres, schools, universities, the city stadium and Branicki Palace. There will definitely be something to watch this year. From a record number of nearly two thousand films submitted to 8 competitions, the viewers will have an opportunity to see 121 most exciting ones. The films will be assessed by the international jury and the festival audience. A new experimental film and video art competition debuts this year. I hope it will meet with great interest of the audience. As usual, we have prepared special screenings of short films from around the world, including such countries as Armenia, Iran, Mexico, India or Canada. In our festival program you will also find concerts, meetings with artists, exhibitions, panel discussions and workshops. As always, you should be prepared for the powerful opening of the festival. This year the dubstep legend Kode9 is going to live score for the silent film Blackmail, directed by the master of suspense Alfred Hitchcock. And as we start with Hitchcock’s earthquake, we hope to continue increasing the tension till the very last day of the festival and the awards ceremony, followed by a screening of the winning films. I am very curious which films are going to win the Grand Prix and the Wild Bison Audience Award. We shall find out on 11 December. Please come and join us!
