The difference between thermals and compression tights Many athletes, especially those who work out in cold weather, wonder about the difference between thermal and compression tights. Now, term “thermals� can connote several different types of clothing, from tights to shorts to shirts. Some people even consider sweats to be thermals. Essentially, the term means any clothing that will keep you warm.
Thermals are usually created from materials designed to keep body heat close to the skin to keep the body warmer overall. Some thermals are thick and somewhat bulky, often made of materials such as wool;while the high-tech thermal pieces may be thinner and fit closer to the body.
