A few years ago, the Vuwani area became the scene of strife and violent protests that left many schools and other properties torched in protest against the inclusion of the area into a new municipality that includes areas of Malamulele.

This week brought back those sad memories when streets were barricaded with rocks and burning tyres by angry community members at Tshino. The angry community members went on the rampage and left a trail of destruction,

with properties belonging to Zimbabweans burnt to ashes in their wake.

Community members said they were tired of criminal activities taking place in the area, since innocent commu­ nity members were feeling the wrath of the criminals, losing their valuables in robberies and theft while women were being raped. They blamed the ram­ pant crime on illegal Zimba­ bweans staying in the area.

The animosity in the local community has been brewing for some time.

Last year, some known crim­ inals, including a few locals,

were hounded out of their homes and viciously punished by the community after they were accused of robbing a fami­ ly and raping a teenage girl.

One of the suspects died at the scene and his accomplices were taken to hospital with serious injuries. After this incident, people thought there would be peace in the area, but crime still persisted. Tired of the continuing crime, the com­ munity barricaded roads and burnt tyres in the area, bringing everything to a standstill on Sunday.

They must not have a place to stay here as they are involved in crime,” said a resident.

Others in the community, however, do not believe that chasing Zimbabweans from the village will be the solution to the spiralling crime problem. “We know that there are some Zimbab­ weans who are involved in crime, but they are not the only people doing crime and locals are also involved. What are we doing about the local criminals? Is this the way to go in solving crime here, or is this just another form of xenophobia?” remarked a resident, who preferred to remain anonymous.

Limpopo police spokesperson Col Moatshe Ngoepe said they had arrested two suspects, aged 39 and 53 respectively, on Monday night after the violent protest that had erupted at Tshi­ no. He said eight houses belonging to foreign nationals had been torched during the rampage at around 19:00 and that the motive behind the incident was still unknown.

“The situation in the area has now returned to normal, but public order police members are still monitoring the situation,” Ngoepe said. “The arrested suspects are expected to appear in the Vuwani Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of public violence, malicious damage to property and arson.”

Police investigations are continuing, including the tracing of other possible suspects.

The Thohoyandou-based Khoroni Hotel Casino Convention Resort excelled during a function to recognise the top employees of the Peermont Global group. Vhembe municipality’s website gets hacked

By Tshifhiwa Mukwevho and Anton van Zyl As if the embattled Vhembe District Municipality does not have enough problems, the municipality’s website has become the target of hackers. Last Friday, the site was unavailable for part of the morning, with the message “Hacked

by Semtex – Kill or be killed” displayed across the screen.

The past week, Google’s Chrome browser flagged the site as a possible phishing site.

When the VDM’s spokes­ person, Moses Shivambu, was approached for comment, he did not elaborate on the cause of the problems.

He said that they were aware of the website issue and were busy fixing the corrupt file. He assured resi­ dents that none of their other systems were attached to the website.

The fact that the website is vulnerable means that res­ idents should be careful when accessing forms. Earlier this week, Google’s Chrome brows­ er issued a security warning to users visiting the site. It stated that “Google Safe Browsing recently detected phishing on www.vhembe.gov.za. Phish­ ing sites pretend to be other

websites to trick you.”

The hacker or hackers seemingly exploited some security vulnerabilities and infiltrated the VDM’s website, which makes use of a “build­ ing” platform called Drupal.

Such platforms are very vulnerable to attacks if not

updated regularly.

Friday’s hacker seemed to have used a security loophole and replaced the home page with his or her own page, dis­ playing the Semtex message.

Semtex is described as “a very pliable, odourless plastic explosive” and is a popular

“weapon” in several computer games, where it forms part of the player’s armour. It may have been a subtle message to tell the site owners that the hacker has planted a “bomb” on the site which could “ex­ plode” at any time.

Whereas the “Semtex” hacker might only have been messing around with the site, the phishing attacks can be more dangerous.

Hackers try and trick the website visitors into supplying them with personal details, such as names, ID numbers and addresses. In certain phishing incidents, the scammers try and trick people into supplying banking details as well.

On Wednes­ day the VDM’s website still displayed the warning, mostly because Google had added the site to its list of “unsafe” sites.

The Limpopo Mirror contact­ ed a few website experts, asking them to have a look at the site.

The general consensus was that the security issues had been addressed, but visitors to the site were warned to be extra careful and to always double-check the address at the top of the browser.

This is necessary to ensure that the site you are on is in fact the correct one and not a suspicious-looking address.

Two appear in court for possible taxi-war shooting at Sibasa

By Elmon Tshikhudo Two men who were allegedly involved in a dramatic shooting at a busy Sibasa intersection appeared in the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court.

The two suspects are the 40-year-old Colbert Nemukula and the 29-year-old Frank­ lin Khumbudzo Khubana.

Nemukula allegedly fired the shots. Khubana is believed to be a policeman stationed at one of the police stations in Gauteng. They face charges of attempted murder, illegal possession of a firearm and

ammunition.

The gun used in the shooting is believed to be the policeman’s service pistol.

Their cases were postponed to 19 March 2019 for bail ap­ plications. Police investigations are also continuing.

Their arrest and subsequent court appearance are the sequel to the daring shooting of a 63-year-old man near the Total garage at Sibasa a fortnight ago. The incident happened at around 08:00 in the morning.

The shooting elicited a lot of speculation but was widely believed to be the result of the

ongoing taxi violence in the area. The violence has claimed many lives in Limpopo, with two killings reported late last year when two well-known taxi operators, one at Thohoyandou Block F and one at Maniini, were shot execution style.

The Vhembe area has be­ come a killing field where guns are the main killing instru­ ments.

Early this year, two wellknown unionists, Mr Timmy Tshililo Musetsho and Mr Ronnie Mani, were mercilessly gunned down in what is be­ lieved to be contract killings.

Meanwhile, since last week, buses have not been running.

“On Monday, I slept on the benches at the Thohoyandou police station because the buses couldn’t get us back to Marh­ oleni, for fear of strikers,” said a student who commutes from her village to Thohoyandou at least three times a week. “I un­ derstand the fact that they need a road but now their strike is affecting us.”

The provincial police’s spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe, confirmed that the police were monitoring the situation and trying to restore peace.

Bring services to people in honour of struggle veteran Muditambi

By Elmon Tshikhudo The local traditional leader at Gondeni La Mabilu outside Thohoyandou, Chief Zwithuzwivhuya Mikosi, said the best way to honour the late struggle veteran Mr Dick Muditambi was to bring services to the community where he had lived.

This was during the late soldier’s funeral held at the local Gondeni sports grounds on Saturday.

Tributes poured in from all over after his death and a message of condolence was received from former MK op­ erative Mthetheleli Mncube, who survived death in combat with the apartheid forces and later spent time on death row.

The 72-year-old Muditam­ bi, or Dick as he was known

at MK camps, of Gondeni outside Thohoyandou, passed away a fortnight ago at 1 Mil­ itary Hospital in Tshwa­ne. He was buried during a funeral that was attended by officials from the government, ANC delegates, military veterans, many community members and traditional leaders, among others.

He was a retired former SANDF soldier who later occupied different portfolios at the Vhembe District Mu­ nicipality.

At the time of his death he was also serving in the veter­ an’s league.

He left for exile in 1980 and trained in different African countries.

As an honour to the late soldier, a 21-gun salute was observed at the local cemetery.

Speaking during the funer­

al, Chief Mikosi described the late Muditambi as a fearless and gallant fighter who had sacrificed most of his life to emancipate the country but had not enjoyed the fruits of his toil.

“Government should bring services here. Look at the road and the clinic just as an example. They are in a very bad state and the best way to honour this fallen hero is to bring the much-needed ser­ vices that Muditambi fought for, but never saw,” he said.

Limpopo ANC secretary Mr Soviet Lekganyane called on leaders of the ANC who were alleged to have been involved in corruption not to wait for the courts to find them guilty, but to step aside and wait for processes to unfold and clear their names.

The saying ‘do not despise the day of small beginnings’ best describes the rise of Rinae Tshikovha from a village boy to a renowned entertainer and a highly sought-after professional master of ceremonies.

With a mix­ ture of formal education and natural talent, Tshikovha has become the talk of a town with his hilari­ ous dance moves and bone­chuckling jokes.

Born at Maniini vil­ lage in Thohoyandou 34 years ago, Tshi­

kovha moved to Itsani village where he was raised by a single parent.

Growing up without a father never deterred him from following his dreams. “My talent started showing off when I mesmerised soccer­lov­ ing people during my days as a defender, but my rise to stardom took off like a house on fire when I joined multi­award­ winning gospel group Worship House as a tenor backing vocal­ ist,” he said.

Just when people were getting used to seeing him behind the microphone, Tshikovha, who holds an academic degree in criminal Justice and an LLB from the University of Venda, also became a professional master of ceremonies.

Even the sky does not seem to be the limit for this lanky all­rounder as he slotted into this new challenge with ease and won the hearts of all and sundry. Tshikovha, who also works as a legal advisor, said he was proud of his achievements so far, but he was still working hard to achieve more.

“I want to be the example that a person’s disadvantaged background cannot stop his dreams if he is willing to work hard to achieve them,” he said. “I encourage the youth to stay positive and surround themselves with people with whom they share the same aspirations.”

Tshikovha added that the youth must refrain from abusing alcohol and drugs if they had a vision to impact their communities in the future. “The opportunities are there for the youth to capitalise on, but the world of today needs sober­minded people who are prepared to go an extra mile and move out of their comfort zone to achieve their targets,” he concluded.

He is a professional radio man, with excellent planning and organisational skills. He is also a good communicator with excellent interpersonal relations and can work well under pressure, shows lots of initiative and is able to work independently.

According to his co-workers, he is a result-driven individual.

The saying goes: “Charity begins at home”. This is relevant to Jantiby Nef ‘s official entrance into the radio industry at Radio Venda in 1984 and his programme, Devhula Ha Vhembe, started in 1985. He worked at the station with the likes of Razz Matazz Mashige, Pastor Isaac Dagada, Andries Mueda, GJ Sadiki, and TJ Munonde, to mention a few.

His appetite for information, taste for good music, love for his listeners and zeal to tell it the way it is, place this announcer among the best. “I am that kind of person who is positive about every aspect of life. There are many things I like to do, to see, and to experience.”

Being an introvert, he was naturally drawn to cre-

ative writing to express his thoughts and perspectives, rather than expressing them openly.

Radio represented a wider platform for him to express his ideas and he increasingly dreams of asserting himself as a key player in the media industry.

It gives Nefale an opportunity to interact with big shots in sporting circles globally. “What I like about the show is that it is friendly, and we interact with listeners.”

He added that one important thing he had learnt in radio journalism “is that you must always be prepared to learn a thing or two in your interaction with the public”. This is also true of his character as he is an informer, entertainer and educator, but most of all the voice that accompanies listeners. He enjoys working at the actuality programme, Morning drive show midweek Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 09:00 and Devhula Ha Vhembe. “One thing is that you work for 24 hours per day. Wherever you are, you are on duty, because if something happens related to the news, you need to report it.”

Nefale ascribes his success and achievements to hard work and strive for the best in a career that demands more discipline and determination.

He said that he would continue to do his job and motivate young people.

He urged young people to refrain from all acts of criminality and focus on school work.

According to him, pupils need to be given moral education that encourages them to stay away from committing crimes. “It is important for elders and teachers to tell the children about the dangers of involving themselves in crime,” he said.

Nefale said his listeners were very important to him and he would always appreciate their continued support. “I need more skills to improve my work environment and I want to tell the youth that it is important to get an education first, so that you can make a significant contribution to your community.”

He arrived at the stage where he was able to maintain his wife and a son from the pro­ ceeds of his produce. “All I can say to any other person who is unemployed and doesn’t know what to do, is to devise a plan to make a living by just creating a job for oneself,” he said. “Don’t stress too much or else you’ll lose focus in life. I know from experience that not working is not a good thing.”

Mr Patrick Mashimbye, who is the youth facilitator at the school, welcomed the visit by the police, saying it would install discipline in the learners. “We are a school that is known for excellence and good results, having been counted among the top five schools in the province for the past three years. Learners will from now on not take a chance and bring illegal things onto the school premises after this visit, knowing that the police could arrive at any given time,” he said.

MC Mining announces start of Makhado project Mining News MC Mining have announced that they will start developing their flagship Makhado hard-coking and thermal-coal project just north of the Soutpansberg in phases.

According to a press release issued by the mining company, con­ struction on Phase 1 will commence during the third quarter of this year if all conditions are satisfied. These conditions include finalizing a ther­ mal off­take agreement by the sec­ ond quarter of 2019, finalizing debt funding to the amount of US$20 million and raising enough equity to repay the Industrial Develop­ ment Corporation of South­Africa (IDC) and to contribute to Phase 1 funding, totalling US$ 30 million.

MC Mining effectively owns 69% of Baobab Mining & Explo­ ration (Pty) Ltd, the owner of the Makhado Project, the balance being and/or to be held by the IDC, seven communities located in the vicinity of Makhado and a black industrialist. MC Mining previously announced the Makhado “Lite” project plan, producing 4 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of run­ off­mine (ROM) coal, yielding 1.6 to 1.8 Mtpa of saleable product. The development of Makhado Lite was, however, delayed for approximately a year mainly because of the lack of access to two key properties (the farms Lukin and Salaita) were the east pit, processing and other infra­ structure would be located. These properties have since been bought by the company.

The delay, however, resulted in the company’s having to repay their existing IDC debt ahead of signif­ icant cashflows out of Makhado.

“Consequently, in parallel with pursuing various strategies to obtain access to the two properties, management assessed alternative project­development plans, which included developing Makhado in phases by commencing mining on the west pit and processing through the existing Vele plant (Phase 1) and then progressing to the east pit (Phase 2),” said the company.

According to MC Mining, con­ struction at Makhado and Vele will occur at the same time and will take nine months to complete, requiring funding of R460 million, including a 10% design contingency. “Phase 1 mining and processing will be out­ sourced to experienced third parties who have operated in South Africa and is expected to create approxi­ mately 650 permanent employment opportunities,” said the company.

Once up and running, MC Mining said, Phase 1 will generate signifi­ cant cash flows.

“The approval for the phased de­ velopment reflects further advance­ ment of Makhado and its ability to generate significant near­term value by positioning MC Mining to be able to take advantage of positive future global coking coal prices due to limited supply. The use of the ex­ isting Vele processing plant reduces the project’s capital expenditure requirements and, together with the completed FEED process, short­ ens the construction time while moderating execution risk,” said MC Mining CEO David Brown. He added that they remained commit­ ted to the sustainable development of the Makhado Project, “recognis­ ing its potential to drive significant socio­economic transformation and seeking co­operation between mining, agriculture and heritage land uses”.

The lowest unemployment in SA?

By Anton van Zyl Does Limpopo really have the lowest unemployment rate in the country, standing at 16,5%? This was proclaimed by Premier Chupu Mathabatha during his State of the Province Address last month.

Premier Mathabatha quoted from a Stats South Africa report, indi­ cating that the provincial economy has been able to create 317 000 jobs since 2014. “Our unemployment rate is currently 16,5% against the national average of 27,1%” said the premier.

The statistics provided caused a number of eyebrows to lift, with many arguing that this is little more than a pre-election stunt, with a very selective use of statistics. As the quote (from presumably British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli) goes: “Lies, damn lies, and statistics.”

We pulled up the latest Stats SA labour force survey to check the figures and verify the premier’s statement.

It turns out that Premier Mathabatha is correct about the “official” unemploy­ ment rate in Limpopo, which stood at 16,5% at the end of the fourth quarter of 2018. He could (and perhaps should) also have highlighted the number of people who managed to find a job since the last quarter of 2017. Stats SA’s survey puts that at 59 000 people, a 4,2% increase. Only Gauteng (172 000) and KwaZulu-Natal (135 000) could do better.

However, what the premier did not quote, was the expanded unemploy­ ment rate. In this category Limpopo came in joint second (last) with the Eastern Cape, showing a 2% year-onyear increase. Only North-West (2,3%

Lim Premier’s statement calls for some scrutiny of figures increase) did worse. In Limpopo, the figure went up to 38,8%, from 36,8% the year before, which is also much higher than provinces such as Gauteng (33,6%) and the Western Cape (23,1%).

The difference between the official unemployment rate and the expanded unemployment rate is quite import­ ant. To be “officially” unemployed, you need to be between 15 and 64 years of age and must actively seek work.

The expanded unemployment rate is a broader definition where people who are “available” for work, but who are not necessarily actively looking for a job, are also counted. These include “discour­ aged work seekers”, i.e. people who have stopped looking for work for a variety of reasons.

The premier of Limpopo’s reference to the 317 000 jobs created since 2014 may also be a bit misleading. Because of a growth in the population, the labour force, in theory, also grows. In Decem­ ber 2017, the number of people between the ages of 15 and 64 in Limpopo stood at 3,705 million. This increased by 51 000 to 3,756 million in December 2018.

Interestingly enough, the labour force in Limpopo increased from 1,763 mil­ lion in December 2017 to 1,821 million in the third quarter of 2018. It then

decreased by 53 000 to 1,769 million in the last quarter. The number of employed people increased by 59 000 (year-on-year) to 1,477 million. The number of “not economically active” people increased by 46 000 during the year to 1,987 million. Stats SA cal­ culated that the province had about 163 000 more “discouraged work seekers” at the end of 2018.

Having a look at the driving forces behind employment in the province is also worthwhile. The trade industry is the biggest employer, absorbing 354 000 people (as calculated in the last quarter of 2018), followed by commu­ nity and social services (329 000). The construction industry employed 146 000 people.

Agriculture came in fourth, employ­ ing 138 000 people, followed by private households that employed 120 000 workers. The finance industry also pro­ vided 120 000 jobs. Mining provided 106 000 work opportunities, manufac­ turing 91 000, transport 56 000 and utilities created jobs for 15 000 workers.

Some of the other interesting facts for Limpopo mentioned in the report are: * In the last quarter of 2018, 203 000 people made a living as subsistence farmers; * 851 000 people fetched water or col­ lected dung; and * 44 000 people did construction work or re­ pairs to their own houses.

He and his wife fetch about 50 li­ tres of water a day from the stream, sometimes using a wheelbarrow.

Mary Mabetha said she bought water from a neighbour at R3 for a 25-litre container. She has three children and uses about 100 litres a day for her family. She and her hus­ band are unemployed and depend on social grants.

Samuel Msengi drilled his own borehole in 2015. He says he does not like the idea of selling bore­ hole water. “Community members fetching water from my borehole offered to pay R1 per trip. I use that money for electricity for pumping the water.”

“War child” Maemu in Russian fight

By Kaizer Nengovhela A local boxer, Rofhiwa “War Child” Maemu (27), is preparing to give his opponent a tough fight when he exchanges blows with Russian-born Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov for the IBO junior-lightweight title in Russia on Saturday. The fight will take place over 12 rounds.

According to his trainer, Emmanuel Mutavhatsindi, Maemu is well prepared for

the fight. Rakhimov, however, is not to be underestimated.

The Russian has not lost in his 13 fights. Maemu, on the other hand, has fought 27 fights, winning 19, losing 7 and draw­ ing one.

“Rakhimov is a good fighter, but he makes a lot of mistakes and Maemu will capitalise on that,” said Mutavhatsindi. He promised that the fight would produce maximum entertain­ ment. “Limpopo has an abun­ dance of talent when it comes to boxing. We must nurture

Maemu currently stays in Johannesburg, but he grew up in Tshifudi village near Thohoyandou.

Mutavhatsindi said in an interview that Maemu was training like a man possessed because he viewed the fight as his biggest opportunity to win a big title. The outspoken Mutavhatsindi told Limpopo Mirror that his aim was to take Maemu to an interna­ tional level.

Maemu is adamant that he will outclass Rakhimov. “I am well prepared well for the event and I am sure that I will win.” He said that he was not moved by his opponent’s re­ cent threats to dent his record.

“I am well-prepared well for the event, and I am sure that I will bring home the champi­ onship belt.”

Requirements -BCOM /Financial management -Advanced computer literacy -Code 10 driver’s license with PDP -At least 5 years’ experience as General Manager/Area Manager Duties -Manage the company outcome -Plan all activities in consultation with management -Monitor quality of all services rendered -Liaise with all stakeholders and customers -Account to all company activities compile reports for board consumption -Analyse financial statement and identify all risks every months -Understand the role-within the organization and strengthen team work -Executing other delegated duties deemed necessary.

Requirements -Grade 12 -At least 1year experience as sales associate Duties -Attend customers who enters the shop -Assist customers to find the goods and products they are looking for -Giving advice and guidance on product selection to customers -Keeping the store tidy and clean, this includes hovering and mopping -Keeping up to date with special promotions and putting up displays -Attaching price tags to merchandise on the floor.

Western Stars too strong for log leaders Magau Utd

By Kaizer Nengovhela Madombidzha Western Stars scored a 1-0 victory over the current log leaders in the MMK Administrator Stream E league, Magau United, at Madombidzha on Sunday.

Magau United’s coach, Mr Bishop Musiamo, said that no need existed for panic at this stage. He said that their focus was on their next league clash against Green Way Academy.

“We knew that we were going to lose at some point. I will only be worried if my players are not fighting,” Musiamo told Limpopo Mirror.

“Stars are a strong side. We just need to prepare and forget about this defeat. To fight with the big boys, you need more

than talent. It’s tough,” he said.

Musiamo refused to get drawn into a debate about referees. “I only talk about my players and our performance. I believe in the second half we performed well, but in the first half we were nowhere to be seen,” he said.

Western Stars’ coach, Mr Maanda Themeli, was full of praise for his players. “Finally, we got it right. I think credit must go the players because they fought back really hard.

We conceded four goals in the first round against United and this was sweet revenge,” said Themeli.

Stars, much to the surprise of everyone, came out a differ­ ent animal after the break to secure an impressive victory.

“We needed to focus if you play teams like United, but after I spoke with them, I told them we need to get a goal early in the second half, because we didn’t start well. We played good short passes through the middle, and I told them if we can use that more we’ll score, so we came back and scored to win the game,” he said.

“I hope the level of concen­ tration will be high and we’ll keep on working hard. The only way we can do that is to keep everybody together, so that we can move forward,” he said.

Stars’ goal followed after Samuel Moyo of United han­ dled the ball inside his penalty area and the referee pointed to the white spot. Ontanganedza “CR7” Radamba made it count.

Promotional playoff hopes for TTM

By Frank Mavhungu Following their 3-2 victory over Stellenbosch FC in their National First Division League match at the Thohoyandou Stadium last Saturday, Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) revived their hopes of taking part in the promotional playoffs when the activities for the current season come to an end in two months’ time.

TTM moved a step up on the log, fol­ lowing the victory. They are now lying in the seventh position on the log with 35 points. The team finishing the league on top of the log will gain automatic promotion to the Premiership Division while the second­ and third­placed sides, together with a Premier Divi­ sion team that will finish in the 15th spot, will take part in the promotional playoffs.

The top team in the promotional playoffs will also gain promotion to the elite league.

Asked how he rated their promotional playoff chances, TTM’s head coach, Mr Momcilo Medic, was quick to men­ tion that the race was still wide open, considering the fact that they still had to play six matches before the end of the season.

He reluctantly agreed that winning the league championship would not be easy for them, although it was still possible. He stressed the fact that their target was to finish within the top three teams and partake in the promotional playoffs.

Medic said that he was impressed by the fact that his team managed to score three goals the past weekend, although conceding two goals at home was not something he was proud of.

Phumelele Bhengu, Sontaga Mohlo­ ding and Edward Maqele scored for TTM while Stellenbosch FC pulled two back through Iqraam Rayners and Junior Awono later in the game.

Mr Steve Barker, Stellenbosch’s head coach, blamed TTM for applying “dirty tricks”. He accused TTM of instructing the ball boys to take their time before throwing in the balls at a time when his side were trailing 2­3.

With eight matches remaining before they wrap up their league activities for the current season, chances are good that Black Leopards may finish within the top eight teams. Lidoda duvha are the only side who have played 22 matches to date while the majority have played 24. The only two teams that have played 23 matches are Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.

Half of the Leopards’ eight remain­ ing matches will be played at home.

The four matches that the Thohoy­ andou side will play in front of their home crowd will be against Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, Maritzburg United and Cape Town City. Leopards are currently lying in the 12th position with 25 points.

The fact that the team lying in the 8th spot, Bloemfontein Celtics, have deposited 31 points into their league account to date is reason enough for them to believe that they will finish their league programme within the top­eight bracket. Should they manage to win their two outstanding matches, Leopards will move to the eighth spot on the log.

The four matches that Lidoda duvha will play away from home will be against Polokwane City, Orlando Pirates, Bidvest Wits and Amazulu.

Their next match will be against

Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Sta­ dium in Johannesburg next Friday, 29 March. The team’s head coach, Mr Dylan Kerr, is adamant that Leopards will be counted among the top eight teams, come the end of the season.

According to him that will only be possible if they manage to win at least four of their remaining matches and play to at least a draw in the other four.

When asked about the teams that are on top of their hit list, Mr Kerr said that whoever played Black Leopards at the Thohoyandou Stadium would be lucky to go back with a point in hand.

Leopards’ final league match will be

against Cape Town City at the Thoho­ yandou Stadium on Saturday, May 11.
