Abortion suspect charged with murder the 26yearold resident from uganda, Juko Moses, who is suspected of running an illegal abortion clinic in the back alleys of Makhado (Louis tri chardt), has now been charged with murder. Moses was arrested in July 2011 after a 29-year-old woman, who wanted to terminate her five-month pregnancy, had put the police on Moses’s trail. At first he was charged with the illegal termination of a pregnancy.

This charge was changed to murder when Moses appeared in the Louis Trichardt Regional Court on Monday. The woman, who cannot be identified without her informed consent, responded to one of the many illegal abortion advertisements that are plastered all over town. She allegedly paid R1000 for five Cytotex tablets, which are used to terminate pregnancies. Her baby died as a result of major complications caused by

her taking the Cytotex tablets. According to information supplied, the State feels that it has enough evidence to prove a case of murder against Moses. In the meantime, Moses has been in custody since September last year. His case had to be postponed on Monday, due to the fact that he had failed to pay his attorney. Moses will remain in custody until 14 January, when his case is expected to continue.

Ro fhi wa Bruce Nthulane en Khethani Ramulongo elk drie A’s agter hul name skryf. “Swak skoolbywoning is ‘n groot faktor by die onderste groep.

BUSINESS talk By Linda van der Westhuizen

More accolades for local Harcourts Harcourts Jana Marie in Makhado (Louis trichardt) is ranked under the top 25 Harcourts offices in terms of their sales in november. “Harcourts is one of the fastest growing Real Estate franchises in our country. In the past two years Harcourts in South Africa has experienced phenomenal growth, which is especially significant at a time when many real estate groupings are shrinking, and the industry as a whole has declined. Whereas the residential

property industry reported a growth of only 5% year-onyear in 2011 compared to 25% in 2010, Harcourts has experienced a year-on year growth of 27% in 2011 and 45% in 2010. Furthermore, Harcourts’ aggregate sales growth in the last two years is a staggering 87%,” says principal Jana Smith, quoting from a recent report released by Harcourts Real Estate South Africa. The CEO of Harcourts, Richard Gray, attributes the extraordinary growth of Har-

courts to the fact that they offer a leading value proposition in all aspects of real estate. “Many independent agents have found it tough to keep up-to-date with the increasing demands of the industry especially in terms of technology and training,” says Gray. Harcourts provide internationally recognised technology systems. In addition Harcourts facilitate training courses to both new and experienced agents through the accredited Harcourts Training Academy.
