EXPERIENCE
CAED Graduate Assistant 2023 - Rui Liu
Assisted in teaching and managing two structural systems courses at Kent State University. Responsibilities included aiding students with and grading their assignments, teaching class in absence of professor, holding weekly office hours, and managing class attendance.
CMU Research Grant Intern/Faculty Assistant 2022 - Nick Safley
Worked in fabrication lab to implement a project production system for a CMU block research grant. Casted individual concrete blocks with various patterned faces, to later find shading / thermal capacities of blocks. The process started from designing blocks in Rhino, to 3D printing patterns and creating latex molds in order to cast these blocks.
Software as Media Grant Faculty Assistant 2020/2021 - Jon Penvose
Worked within a team of three, creating the “Software as Media” grant project that works to connect Akron’s North-side district to the community and city through augmented reality experiences. Conducted thorough research of Akron and its history to create an encyclopedia of historic and cultural sites around the area for an educational, informative application. Created a variety of maps using GIS and other data to visualize the area.
KSU Student Success Program Leader 2020 - Cody Holland
Co-taught a semester long training course for future peer leaders. Provided support to trainees through mentoring, observation, and feedback. Taught lessons on leadership development, cultural competency, and communication skills while serving as a liaison between Student Success Programs and trainees. Designed instructional materials used in training including: team building activities, hands-on experiences, worksheets, review games, and course agendas.
