Con la inclusión de nuevos jóvenes artistas, manteniendo como nuestra principal labor la internacionalización de trabajos y proyectos, presentamos un programa de exposiciones que incluye creadores consolidados y emergentes que trabajan no sólo con obra sobre papel, sino también con pintura, fotografía, video o instalación, cuyo lenguaje se relaciona con expresiones gráficas. The presentation is coorganized by the New York-based curator and art critic Raúl ZamudioTaylor, and he has curated the |EDS| GALERIA booth as a museum or gallery exhibition than the typical art fair stand. The presentation’s title comes from a work by the same name by Emilio Chapela Perez, and Zamudio-Taylor has opted to use it as curatorial foil from which to weave the other works by the gallery’s other artists. Chapela’s work’s full title is Spectacular (but empty) (2008), and for Zamudio-Taylor, it is reminiscent of Guy Debord’s important situationist book titled the Society of the Spectacle published in 1967. Müller has studied art history in Florence, Rome, Paris and Berlin and received his master degree at the Free University Berlin. He gained experience in the art world working as an art critic and curator at various institutions, such as the Berlin Neue Nationalgalerie as well as the Guggenheim Museum in Venice and New York. The magnus müller gallery focuses on Conceptual Art and an interdisciplinarybased exploration of various mediums. A common interest for space issues and space perception unifies most of the works of the represented artists. The gallery is mainly interested in debuting the work of young emerging, Berlin based artists as well as in presenting internationally reknown artists to the Berlin audience. magnus müller also engages with guest curators to orchestrate group exhibitions consisting of a mix between the gallery artists and invited emerging artists. España T. 003.49.6392.3377 T. 003.46.9231.3867 F. 003.49.6391.0549 Director: Nacho Valle INFORMACIÓN La Galería Valle Ortí abrió sus puertas por primera vez el 14 de noviembre de 1973 en un local de la calle Avellanas, en pleno centro histórico de Valencia. Este espacio, que cuenta con una sala de exposiciones principal, otra de menor tamaño dedicada a proyecciones de vídeo, un amplio almacén y sótano, sigue siendo el lugar desde donde se plantea este renovado proyecto galerístico más de treinta años después. Nacho Valle, actual director, comenzó su experiencia como galerista en 1989, colaborando con su padre y fundador (Vidal Valle) e iniciando una importante transición conceptual y de programación desde entonces, obligadamente impulsada tras la muerte de Éste en septiembre de 2001. La reforma de la sala, realizada a principios de la temporada 2002-2003, ha sido determinante para ofrecer una nueva visión espacial que vaya acorde con otra de renovación de sus inquietudes y pretensiones artísticas. En este sentido, la Galería Valle Ortí considera fundamental en esta nueva etapa dejarse acompañar por artistas jóvenes que buscan, tal vez hacia una misma dirección desde posiciones distintas, un mismo fin: mostrar las diversas expresiones artísticas que puedan dar una pequeña visión de nuestra sociedad actual, compleja, multicultural y polivalente. Since 1992. when Ulrich Voges founded his first gallery it was his search for what was new and surprising to the eye in any media that impelled him forward and lead to the present results. His main focus was on the promotion and long-term collaboration with artists of his own generation and especially close link to the local Staedel Art School resulted in lasting cooperation with artists such as Winter/Hoebert, Martin Liebscher, Manfred Peckl, Rainer Neumier or most recently Adrian Williams, who all are now operating on broad international platform. In the last few years, new collaborattions with Suzannah Sinclair (B), Betsabeé, Romero (Mex), Felix Gmelin (S) and Monique van Genderen (USA) are taking the gallery profile to a more international level, while participation at art fairs like ARCO, FIAC, MACO, art forum Berlin, dc, Fine Art Fair Frankfurt and the VOLTAshow are adding to that enduring quest. Dedicated to emerging and contemporary artists working in all media, ZieherSmith presents technically sound, conceptually grounded artwork in an open environment, emphasizing new artists who reconcile contemporary experience in their own visual language while maintaining a strong awareness of historical precedents. ZieherSmith is a long-standing member of NADA (New Art Dealer's Alliance) and Andrea has served as president of NADA’s board of directors since 2006. Scott is co-founder and president of the Emergency Press, a not-for-profit organization that produces a bi-annual literary and arts almanac as well as publishes manuscripts by emerging poets.
