Robinson Scores 21 points in Loss to Tech Nashville, Tenn. - The Tigers clawed within three points down the stretch but fell victim to Tennessee Tech's 15-10 run in the final minutes, falling in conference play to the Golden Eagles, 86-78, at the Gentry Center Saturday night. TSU's bench was outscored by Tech's reserves 36-14, and from the floor, TTU shot 56 percent while the Tigers hit 44 percent from the field.

Gerald Robinson, Jr. led the Tigers with 21 points (8-of-17) while handing out eight assists. Parker Smith scored 19 points hitting 6-of-11 from the floor including 6-of-9 from beyond the arc. Jerrell Houston added 14 points and eight rebounds. It was a closely fought game in the first half . TSU (6-13, 4-5 OVC) trailed from the 13:46 mark in the first but tied it at 20 apiece with 7:37 remaining in the first. TTU's (10-9, 4-5) 17-14 run gave them the lead at the half, 37-34.
Alex Davis scored 21 points points for the Golden Eagles. Daniel Northern added 16 points (6-of-9) with five rebounds and Frank Davis tacked on 11 points. TSU trailed 64-54 with 7:13 left in the game but rallied with a 14-7 run capped by a Smith three pointer closing the gap 71-68 (2:46). The Golden Eagles responded hitting 3-of-3 from the floor and 7-of-8 from the charity stripe to hold of the Tigers' comeback. Next, the Tigers will hit the road for a conference two-game road swing making their first stop at Morehead State (1/29) before facing Eastern Kentucky (1/31).
