TTU finished with three players in double figures while shooting 48 percent from the floor. Kevin Murphy posted a game-high 18 points (8-of-13) with five rebounds. Alfred Jones (5-of-5) and Jud Dillard (5-of-6) registered 11 points each with Jones pulling in a team-high seven boards. The Golden Eagles step into the match-up having snapped a three-game skid defeating UT Martin in OVC play, 70-61, Saturday night (2/13). Frank Davis led all scorers with 19 points, hitting 4-for-8 from long distance. Jones added 13 points and nine rebounds while Muhammad scored 11 and grabbed six boards. Murphy finished with nine points, snapping a streak of 18 consecutive games in double figures and Bassey Inameti blocked a career-high six shots in the contest. Murphy (15.0 ppg), Davis (14.5 ppg) and Muhammed (11.7 ppg) power the TTU offense that ranks in the top three in several categories. The Golden Eagles posts a league best from long range (.409) and are ranked second in scoring (74.8 ppg) and field goal percentage (.476). TTU is shooting 47.6 percent from the field and is one of four teams in a tight battle for fourth place in the OVC standings. Murphy is fifth in scoring in the conference while Davis is the OVC's top three-point shooter connecting 47.5 percent from behind the arc. Muhammed is the conference's best free-throw shooter at 86 percent and his 4.4 assists per game stands third in the league. On the glass, Jones (8.5 ppg) pulls in a team best 5.3 rebounds per contest. The Tigers will host Jacksonville State in a rescheduled match-up from Feb. 2, holding Coaches vs. Cancer and Senior Night. The game is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m.
