Originally from Moscow Russia, Zlata Rodionova grew up in Luxembourg. Passionate about writing, travel and arts she decided to move to London to undertake a BA in Journalism. It is there that she first started doing photography, a new, more intimate method of telling her stories. Interested in the issues surrounding Eastern Europe, for her major project she decided to focus on the decaying legacy of the Russian Space Industry. This project aims to reveal the nostalgia associated to the USSR’s status of a Space superpower and sheds the light on a close-knit community of space-lovers, clinging to the decaying legacy of the 1960s Space dream.
