Located in Liverpool, UK, Toxteth Reservoir is used to store and provide clean water for the entire city before its redundant since 1997. This project is aiming to reconstruct the reservoir to a music related building.

The concept of this builidng is to combine water wave and music together to make the building active attracting people around, especially young people to come to the building. By doing this, not only the reservoir can be used again, but also the surrounding area can also be actived making the reservoir a landmark in liverpool.

Music School Design, Liverpool

This project is to design a music school in a residential area in Liverpool, UK. It's mainly focus on how to make the building blend in with the surrounding buildings in terms of both the shape of the building and the material it use for the facade. Besides, the organization of the space and how would the space be usedinside the building is also worth exploring.

Site Analysis

Pavilion Unit Design, Suzhou XJTLU is one of Sino-foreign cooperative universities located in Suzhou, China. The appearance in south campus is totally different from that in old north campus and in north campus, even single building is different from each other. Therefore, it's necessary to find a way to redefine the two campus making them a whole and promote the integration of subjects. This project is trying to remodify the free space in the campus, regarding them as several points. Through the transformation of these space, the area around these points can be activated. Then each point connects together, forming a net to link the whole campus.

2016 XJTLU celebrated its 10th anniversary and opened the South Campus.

Time & Activities Some students may get up very early and do some exercise on the playground.

2019 The construction of new campus (Taicang) kicked off.

From Music to Concept The concept of the pavilion is to add both Suzhou and Liverpool culture into it. I blend arch bridge element into pavilion unit and arrange them refering to the guitar score of 'Yesterday' made by the Beatles. After that, I divide the whole structure into several small space giving them different functions (Challenge sheld, cafe, reading area, podium and study room) which aims to intergrate different subjects and activities allowing students in different major to communicate together.

It could also include an exhibition line. People like architecture students can pin their posters on temporary boards along this line to show their work to all of the students and teachers.

The points on the master plan shows where the pavilion should be in order to connect the whole campus. They together form a net activating the whole campus.I choose the one in the left to explain in detail what it may look like and what fuction it may have. The other pavilions will appear in the same way as the left one does but chould have different functions according to the buildings around. Besides, There may also be two bridges between the domitory and north campus and between the north and south campus helping to link the whole campus.

This project focuses on people's everyday experience of architecture in communities.

The site is in Sefton Park in Liverpool, UK. After learning about the apple cider making process, a community center is designed for apple cider making. The building intends to fit into the park naturally and attract people who come to the park leading them to explore more of both the building and the park.Through the combination of sightseeing and production process, the park will be more attractive.
