ORIRI We developed a high-end competitive e-sports arena and (gaming) expo hall in downtown Atlanta where the top e-sports competitions and gaming cultural events of the world will take place. Therefore, we explored how to design an emerging architectural archetype driven by the cultural acceptance, integration and commercialization of gaming, the e-sports arena.Status is a huge importance to esport players. Therefore, it makes everyone wants to be the best even in a team, people want to be the MVP, they want to be the figure that people look up to when playing anything ranging from Fighting to FPS shooters.

Concept Taking inspiration from the Bracket System, players have to fight each other and contend to get to the top. You have to beat your opponents to get to the top (or center) of the bracket system. Fight your way to the center to encounter your your final opponent. To win all the glory.

The Ecliptic For this project the goal was to encourage circulation in the park by developing experiential nodes and projecting a frame to define space in the park. The experiential nodes throughout the project are defined by natural sensory influences and encourage specific atmospheres, circulation, and community. Throughout the project, the influence of many architects such as Niemeyer, Mies, and Burle Marx can be seen. The process of this project was intended to link with the process of creating film, and like how the film leads us to follow a story, the FRAME serves not only as a structured circulation, but as a framework of the things that dwell within.

Grand Theather The Grand Theater is placed at the end of the frame, where it becomes a mesh overlay.

This serves as the finale of the circlation. A meeting point. The materiality of the theater is concrete and steel.

Nodes The nodes were designed to create experiencial spaces underneath our frame. Each space is unique in its own way with a collective intent to ecorage spaces where families can come, gather, and enjoy in a highly wooded area in the heart of the city.

Live Amphitheater

The Live Amphitheater is placed towards the end of the frame. The form from the stage is also derived from the legendary Burle Marx design, used as the leading precedent for the frame. Its natural design is carved out of the Earth to create seating for its dwellers.

Salao Musicae Parque Areiao Gift Shop

Salao Musica is a family restaurant placed in the heart of the frame. The gift shop and restaurant are a mid-point for visitors of Areiao Park. Both the restaurant and gift shop design were inspired by Mies Van Der Rohe’s Farnsworth House. the delicate touch of the building does not obstruct the beauty of the thick jungle of the park. It allows the dwellers to still be a part of the landscape while enjoying a live show and music.

The Hillside Pavilion The Hillside Pavilion, located in Milan, Italy, was a notable construction featured at Expo Milano 2015. This pavilion was meticulously designed and constructed, embodying the theme of clustering on site. The pavilion showcased the convergence of various spices, symbolizing cultural diversity and culinary traditions. Its location within the Expo Milano site provided a central focal point, drawing visitors to explore.

Design Process

This iteration began with research from turkish, indian, and ideas reflected the concept of basket weaving.

After analyzing the motin that mace creates while wraping around the nutmeg seed, it became a priority to include this concept into the pavilion design.

The saffron flower itself is often overlooked. This iteration abstacts the petals as cladding. This design creates a purposeful representation of the flowers relationship to the spice itself.
