Year2 Ziyao ZhangI began to think about which style theme I prefer to working for this assignment. I decided to start with my own interests. I like a lot of things, I like painting, I like to see the scenery, I also like photography. Of all the different kinds of photography, I like the photos with the two elements of cloud and fog best. I searched the Internet for some photography related to clouds, hoping to get some inspiration from these photos.
Refer to clouds and fog, I am reminded of a famous poem written by a poet named Li Bai in the Tang Dynasty of China, which is called "The waterfall in Mount Lu view from afar". In this poem, clouds, fog and landscapes are described. This poem is very artistic and will make readers feel as if the mountains and clouds are in front of them. So there are many Chinese painters and calligraphers who love the feeling of painting and writing this poem.
Some calligraphy works and Chinese ink painting works related to “The Waterfall in Mount Lu Viewed from Afar”
By this point, I had gradually developed some ideas, and I wanted to combine Chinese calligraphy with ink painting and elements of cloud and fog. For example, I can put Chinese calligraphy in the background and have the characters start to dance. Clouds and fog and ink lines will move with the movement of the character. I can also make some effects in the environment of ink dripping on the ground (like rain).
I thought it was a good idea to combine characters with elements like smoke, clouds and fog.
