Stewardship Question & Answer Q: Sometimes we hear celebrity quotes and they sound familiar. Here are a couple of similar quotes: “I work very hard, but when God opens that door for you - when life opens that door for you, I should say - I think it's important to be giving, to return the love back.” - Lady Gaga “When I chased after money, I never had enough. When I got my life on purpose and focused on giving of myself and everything that arrived into my life, then I was prosperous.” - Wayne Dyer Is there a common origin of these ideas? A: If these ideas sound familiar it’s because Jesus said it originally: In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ” Acts 20:35 (NIV)
