ANNUAL REPORT

ZGiRLS CREATES A WORLD WHERE ALL GIRLS AND WOMEN LIVE WITH ZERO LIMITATIONS.

If I had to sum up 2021 with two words it would be, “New Beginning.” For so many of us, 2020 was about surviving a global pandemic and pivoting. For ZGiRLS that meant a huge shift into the online space. The year of 2021 was all about creating something new and establishing a solid foundation that could be scaled to hundreds (and soon to be thousands) of girls every single season. In this massive transition, your support was the biggest game changer for us this year. YOU made it possible for us to never turn a girl away from the opportunity to learn confidence building skills. More than 71% of our participants joined the ZGiRLS program this year completely free (that's more than double the year before). Which means, if a parent said their teen girl needed this community but couldn’t afford it, their daughter joined ZGiRLS for exactly $0. Your generosity also allowed us to develop partnerships with local Boys & Girls Clubs, school counselors, after school programs, and Group Homes. We witnessed girls connecting in new communities and we grew to serve a more diverse community of girls than ever before. As we welcomed girls from all over the country (we’re now in 31 states!), our staff and board hired a DEI consultant and remained committed to adapting our methods to ensure inclusivity and belonging for every single participant. I'm excited for you to read through our 2021 Annual Report and understand how YOU have helped make a life-changing impact on these girls' lives, forever. As a passionate community, we know you stand with us in creating a world where all girls have access to the tools they need to always believe in themselves and know they can take on any challenge in their way. With gratitude,

Jilyne Jarvis ZGiRLS Co-Founder & Executive Director

ZGiRLS MISS ZGiRLS is a 501c(3) non-profit founded by Olympic & NCAA female athletes that combines the proven scientific methods of building confidence with the real-life experiences of professional female athletes. We aim to uplift girls (ages 11 - 16) with the necessary mental tools and perspective to foster their own confidence and step into their courage.

MOST GIRLS STRUGGLE WITH SELF-DOUBT. 8 in 10 girls don’t think they’re good enough. Studies show that a girl's confidence plummets during puberty, leading to higher rates of anxiety, depression and eating disorders that carry into their adult lives. For far too long society has made girls question themselves. ZGiRLS is here to change this! At ZGiRLS, we teach tangible mental skills that help girls overcome self doubt so they can always believe in themselves, step forward with courage and live with ZERO LIMITATIONS! 2021 Annual Report

IMPROVE EVALUATION We don't just talk about building confidence. We actively measure the efficacy of our programs to make sure that girls are learning, absorbing, and using the skills in their every day life. At every program, we collect qualitative and quantitative data from our participants and their guardians. We take a baseline and exit survey as well as weekly assessments from participants to track their progress through the program. In 2021, we redesigned our baseline and exit surveys to accurately evaluate the efficacy of each ZGiRLS Curriculum™ topic. With the assistance of sport psychologists, ZGiRLS developed survey questions that helps the girls self-reflect on their confidence and self-efficacy before and after the program. As ZGiRLS transformed into an online program we spent 2021 learning how to optimize our capabilities. We hired a consultant with a Masters in Sport & Performance Psychology and background in girls athletics to organize, outline and create two new ZGiRLS Curriculum™ topics: resilience and courage. zgirls.org

& INCLUSION

In January 2021 ZGiRLS created a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee at the Board-level to evaluate ZGiRLS and develop sustainable and inclusive programming and outreach strategies. We work alongside organizations that center around youth empowerment and diversity to welcome more girls and make scholarships easily available. During our 2020 Challenge Seeker campaign we pledged to “invest in welcoming more than 100 girls of color and 100 girls struggling to make ends meet.” We exceeded this goal and welcomed 176 racial diverse ZGiRLS and supported 257 courageous ZGiRLS on scholarships in 2021!
