COMPASSIONATE PET CARE

R

oehampton Veterinary Clinic offer an exceptional and compassionate approach to the care of small animals. Founded in 2000, the skilled team have, and continue to be one of the leading clinics in south west London, offering a range of services and treatments. We caught up with co-director Denise Bleckman to find out more about the incredible work they carry out each day. ABSOLUTELY: Tell us a bit about Roehampton Veterinary Clinic? DENISE BLECKMAN: We are an independent veterinary clinic, founded and co-directed by my husband, Richard, and myself. Richard is a renowned veterinary surgeon and has been practicing in South West London for over 30 years. We are positioned in a beautiful spot overlooking Putney Heath, not far from Wimbledon and Richmond Park. A: Tell us about the sort of work you carry out at the clinic? DB: Along with preventive and

comprehensive health care, we offer a range of services from advanced imaging and diagnostics to emergency medicine, laparoscopy and specialised surgery. We integrate this with complimentary and chinese medicine to ensure a quick and wellrounded recovery. A: What do you do that’s different to other veterinary clinics? DB: We have an all-in-one approach meaning that your pet’s treatment plan is carried out from start-to-finish in-house by us. We have our own laboratory and operating theatre, and are able to carry out in-house imaging. This cuts out the toing-and-frowing from one referall to the next, resulting in a speedier diagnostic and recovery. In addition to this, we are known for our laproscopic surgery, a less-invasive practise of neutering with a quick recovery time. We mostly see pets bounce back the day after surgery. Alongside this, we pride ourselves in making great diagnostics, solving problems, orthepic and soft tissue surgery. Paul additionally specialises in dermatology and Richard in integretative

A: What’s the Roehampton team like? DB: We have a highly qualified team and our vets have at least 10 years of experience each. Richard is renowned in the industry with 40 years of experience as a referral veterinary surgeon. He’s been a practicing Buddhist for over 40 years which feeds into his care for each animal. He holds diplomas in Eastern and Western herbal medicine, acupuncture, Chinese medicine and Tibetan medicine and his diagnostic and surgical skills are highly comprehensive. Paul Aggarwal joined our team in 2012. He has 10 years of experience as a veterinary surgeon and holds an Advanced Small Animal Diploma and an Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Dermatology. Paul offers excellent care for all animals who are sick, injured, or simply in need of their regular check - ups, as well as support for animals requiring management of long - term illnesses. A: What’s next for Roehampton Veterinary Clinic? DB: Compassionate care is at the core of what we do and will remain our focus. From highly complicated, near-inoperable surgery to routine check-ups and providing loving care for our inpatients, we always do our best. Our staff will continue to learn new skills while carrying out the precise and attentive care they do now. Last but not least, we’ll continue to offer high quality services with experienced staff.
