Black Leather Jackets - A Punk Rock Beginning Part 1: The Sex Pistols It doesn't matter if you are a fan of the punk rock style or simply like the music, one can deny that both Sex Pistols from England and The Ramones from the US have created a new style of music during the late 1970's. There was much debate about which group become the primary founders for the punk movement but both bands came to their own in the year 1976. The new wave of pop music has swept through the society. It was evident that the individualistic nature of teenagers were encouraged, and that poetry, music and showmanship would prevail over the mainstream of ideas. In reality those who were part of the Sex Pistols didn't care what people believed. The lead vocalist John Lydon was founded by (mis) manager Malcolm McLaren in McLaren's clothing shop. He was wearing a messed up, green hairdo with a leather jacket, and a the homemade "I HATE Pink Floyd" shirt, which was considered a sacrilege in the era of. Lydon's sound was unique to anyone other band, black leather jacket and had a dance style that was his own. However, the band was aware at that moment that they had their frontman. They began by playing wherever they could find their fancy, but with fashion being a factor that can get you into danger, they often were getting themselves into physical danger. They would often have to fight for their lives back to their vans after their show was cut off. It took some time and every time the Pistols were playing, the audience did not "get it", but they soon drew the attention of like-minded fans and began to gain a fan base. Some of these comprised Susan Dallion (aka Siouxsie Sioux) and William Broad (aka Billy Idol).
