From less than 50 angel investors a decade back, the Indian startup ecosystem has recorded angel investments from more than 2,000+ angel investors. An earlier analysis of DataLabs by Inc42 based on 2014-2017 funding data showcased that the total number of angels who participated in the Indian startup ecosystem during that period i.e. 1,777, over 1410 made just a single deal and about 192 have made two. This figure came along with 175 angels who participated in three or more deals. Thereby taking the list of active angel investors that have backed more than 10 startups to a few hundred in number.
