Version 1.0 How to Interpret this Report Purpose
The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) has launched IGBC Green Homes Rating system to encourage green concepts and techniques in residential sector. Green concepts and techniques in residential sector helps to address national priorities like handling consumer waste, water efficiency, reduction in use of fossil fuels, energy efficiency and conserving natural resources . The “BCIL Collective” project was evaluated according to this system and the Final Rating is as follows:
Environmental Categories
The report is organized into five environmental categories as defined by IGBC which include – Site Selection and Planning, Water Efficiency, Energy Efficiency, Materials and Indoor Environmental Quality. The category of Innovation and Design Process is also included.
IGBC Mandatory Requirement
Green Homes should meet certain mandatory requirements which are non-negotiable. These mandatory requirements should be addressed immediately by the team.
IGBC Credits
The environmental categories are subdivided into credits, which are based on desired performance goals within each category. An assessment of whether the credit is earned, pending, or rejected is made and a narrative describes the basis for the assessment.

The credits/mandatory requirement are marked ‘Site visit’. These would be physically site visited during the visits of the IGBC Assessors The applicant has provided the mandatory documentation which supports achievement of the credit requirements and associated points. For Version 1.0 documentation of these credits is complete, and the points which are considered as achieved are designated as 'CAA' (Credit Achievement Anticipated). These credits will be finally awarded during the Final Review. The applicant has not totally satisfied the mandatory documentation, or the documentation is incomplete and point assessment cannot yet be made. Currently the project has the potential to score the adjacent points in this category with additional documentation. The applicant has applied for a point in a particular credit, but has misinterpreted the credit intent or cannot substantiate meeting the requirements.
