Friday Nights, Broadway Lights Homecoming Dance Held Outside
By: Sophie Hume , Editor-in-Chief The highly anticipated fall homecoming dance became a night to remember for Lincoln High School students. LHS hadn’t hosted a homecoming in over two years, so this was a really important
event for all grade levels. The dance’s theme was “Broadway”, to go along with the football game’s theme “All Lights on Lincoln”. Although the dance was different than normal, students still made the best of this year’s circumstances and had a great homecoming. This year’s dance was held on the football field, which is something that’s never been done before at Lincoln. Due to COVID regulations, no more than 1000 people can be in the gymnasium at one time. Rally, Parade A Night to Remember By: Marquis Walters , Reporter As the first quarter of Lincoln High concluded, the Fighting Zebras went rampant during their annual Football Homecoming Rally. Filled with joy, games, and fun times, the rally’s great atmosphere was prompted due to the football game prior. Between games, all four classes presented their floats that they had spent a considerable amount of time on. the “Greasy” Juniors slithered their way into first place and the Senior “Meanies’ settled for 2nd. The underclassmen were… left in the dust. The clock struck the night’s hour and it was time for the Homecoming Queen to be crowned. In the race, we had Taylor Waggoner, Molly Landry, Trinity Markert and Payton Wilson. The crown went to Molly Landry. The prior Wednesday, the Powderpuff King was crowned and that was Marquis Walters. After Molly received her rightful place on the throne, she oversaw the competition her amusing subjects had put on. The activities featured musical chairs, bobbing for apples and ended with a dance-off. As the night concluded, the air was filled with joy, faces showed glee and hearts were warm. the Lincoln Fighting Zebras took a break from fighting what the world had thrown at them and lived for each other, laughed with one another, and loved all.
