Zayo’s Protected Wavelengths solution provides customers complete protection against outages ●

Two wave circuits link to the customer premise via the optical protection switch (OPS).

●

When the protection switch is required, the customer will receive a short ~50ms loss of light as the OPS switches to the secondary route.

●

With Zayo’s Revertive Switching add-on, “data-flow” will move back to the primary path once it is restored.

●

Zayo can provide a service-specific Protection Switch with timing estimates upon request.

Zayo provides real-time visibility of maintenance and network events in Tranzact, a self-service platform ●

Once Zayo detects a protected circuit has switched paths, the customer is notified via email and a maintenance ticket is opened.

●

The customer will manage the switch back to the primary route if the Revertive Switching add-on is not applied.

●

During the switch hit, the customer will need their interface configures to stay up. This is done with a setting on the hold down or debounce timer. It is imperative the interface continues to transmit light during the switch for optimal performance.

●

Due to laser shut off propagation, loss of light can increase switch time up to 5 additional seconds.
