Groups: THE CONSEQUENCES OF BELONGING
Being in an atmosphere whereby peer pressure brought out the best in us clearly shows how we are able to gain benefits of group features. first and foremost, to feel like we belong in a group makes our lives an extra bit meaningful as there would be splendid memories to obtain and words to exchange.
To be in a group of people with the same motivation and shared goals will drive you harder in life. this event leads to you, realizing it or not would eventually land you in achieving your goals and standards you have set up. if you are someone like me, guilty of a the fact that you would determine your self worth by your achievements, being in a good-forming group is the way to go.
Another benefit that you would gain out of positive peer pressure is that engaging with people with the same traits of yours would lift you up emotionally. not only that they would fill up your empty spaces and offer themselves to be your support system, they also engage in the same struggle you face, resulting you to become hard-nosed. When you battle the same fight in the same field given the same weapon, you become cohesive, glued and strong-willed to make it through the end, alive.

WHAT IS PEER PRESSURE ? BY SITI NUR AINA
Let’s start off with the general definition of what peer pressure is in order for the readers to grasp the idea. According to Amy Morin, LCSW, Peer pressure is the influence wielded by people within the same social group. In simple words, when you do something you usually would not do in order to be accepted or valued by your friends or peers. People often think of peers as our friends, but peers can be people who are the same age, have similar social status and have the same abilities as us. Peer pressure is commonly thought of in a negative way, but actually, it’s not always a bad thing. Peer pressure can influence people in a positive way and it is called Positive Peer Pressure. Positive peer pressure is when someone’s friends or peers influence them to do something positive or things that can bring benefit in many different ways. Everyone experiences positive peer pressure at least once in their life but everyone experienced it in a different way such as their friends motivate them to study hard in order to achieve good grades or saving money to buy desired item without using their parent’s money and the other little things that we do when we see our peers or friends does that brings good impact.
Living my high school life, people thought I was always the smart kid who passed their exam with flying colors but in reality, I’m not. I couldn't care less about my grades or if I failed my classes. All I think about is playing netball because I used to think that I could be an athlete. But not until I received my PT3 results which was pretty disappointing and seeing my friends getting good results and being able to make their parents proud knocks me into reality. Since then, I started to study and focus more on my classes and my friends helped me whenever I struggled with mathematics and they always gave me motivation. Those words and encouragement helped me get through every obstacle that came my way. I managed to get 7As and 1B for SPM and I’m grateful to my peers for helping me and pressuring me to always do my best and never giving up. I could say that peer pressure can really lead people to do positive things. As long as we surround ourselves with good influence, then we are on the right track. Mark Lee once said that ‘Have good friends around you, surround yourself with good people, because you’re a good person too’.

EXPERIENCE AND BENEFITS BY FAKHIRA “What exactly should I do to get along?” This question must have been on our minds at least once in our lives before. At a certain age, we crave for the sense of belonging to a specific group of individuals that may be closely related to us or they are just some people we know. As it happens commonly among all of us, some may crack under pressure. But for some, they rose to the challenge, making them unstoppable in a good way of course.
Breaking down my experiences of being in an environment full of exciting, well-behaved, academically and behaviorally smart teenagers have developed the traits in me which I needed crucially in my life. I grew up becoming more confident than the rest of the people I met in my life. I learnt that I have a voice to speak and stand up against someone or something coming my way. Most importantly, I am shaped to be a matured, holistic and well-behaved person that most people weren't equipped with.

Having to go through the whole phase of adventure myself really made me stand with the fact that peer pressure can definitely be a positive note if you yourself is ready to cope with it. Just remember to keep calm and collected, as long as you do not break the rules, everything will be worth it in the end.

WHAT CAN INFLUENCE PEER PRESSURE? BY ELSA SYUVINNA
What comes to mind when we think about peer pressure? Some might perceive it as a negative opinion when the word pressure comes into the picture. Although, there are several examples of what could form positivity among peer pressure. Peer Pressure impacts almost all aspects of one’s life. From the more trivial, which could be the way they dress, the way they talk to how they manage their daily routine. For Instance, we could start off with the movie High School Musical as an example of this topic. The High School Musical movie is about teenagers in high school putting pressure and motivation towards one another in reaching their goals in life. From the movie, it predicts the huge impact of being in a group of friends that can influence you in so many ways in doing what is good. “Everyone is special in their own way, we make each other strong” is quoted in the song We’re All In This Together from the movie. It shows how they have their own dreams to attain but by supporting each other at the same time, they also grew strong and confident together. This was shown when at the end of the movie, they all graduated school together successfully. In another scenario, gaining pressure from peers is also portrayed in the movie. For Instance, when the main character, Troy, wanted to participate in an audition for a show at the school, he never had the confidence to do so. However, after receiving some pep talk from his friends, he finally had the guts to do so. As a result, Troy did not only audition for the show by himself. Anyhow, he managed to encourage his friends to participate too. It is obvious that in this scene, gaining pressure from friends can push each other to do good things too.

In other words, one tends to act more intensely when they are with peers, which motivates them to pursue higherrisk experiences that might bring a big payoff. Not only in movies, however in this particular time being, we too can clearly see what peer pressure can impact one another. Some people- no matter from what country, citizen, or age, could form positivity among peer pressure if one could lead the group towards positive outcomes.
“Young people all know the power of peer pressure as a negative, but few recognize their own capacity to be a positive influence on one another as peer leaders.” - Doyle Stevick

THE importance of positive peer pressure BY ZAHRA'AL HAIYYAN
“Having the discipline and courage to do something is important, but motivation is what keeps us going at times.” We often feel the need to have progress in whatever we do in life, hence explains the need of motivation as it is essential for the growth of a person. Positive peer pressure will bring out the best in an environment that you are in while peer pressure for a bad cause will lead you to a disastrous situation. Peer pressure is advantageous in many ways. Most importantly, it creates a sense of motivation in the person. For example, in the workplace, positive peer pressure motivates people to perform at peak levels. In a team, everyone is expected to perform their duty and pitch in and pull their own weight. The pressure of the situation would be slackers to get one’s work done on time to avoid embarrassment in group settings. Poor performers who are encouraged by colleagues will likely step up and show their very best performance in order to feel like they belong in the group.
What makes a peer pressure a positive thing? Let’s say you are a lazy person who is unwilling to participate in any sport activities, however, your views changed once you had seen your friends being active in collecting medals and trophies in sports, this will “pressure” you into participating as well. This is positive peer pressure because on the field; you get to collaborate and work together as a team. Thus, spending your time productively. Peer pressure also helps us in picking up healthy habits. Friends who make healthy and wise decisions for themselves usually encourages their friends to do the same, be it in deciding to eat for lunch, or how they would spend their evening. Other times, peer pressure helps a person in giving up established bad habits and begin new, healthier ones. As we know, trying new things can be hard. However, with the assistant that the concept of positive peer pressure offers, some things can be as easy as ABC! Most people feel like trying new things along with friends can be inspirational. Sharing new experiences with others can make them feel more comfortable. It can help them overcome their fears. Whether it’s trying out a new roller coaster, presenting a school report in front of the class, or going on a first double-date, there’s strength in numbers. An added bonus? They may build even stronger bonds through sharing first-time experiences together.

what is
BURNOUT? Burnout is a form of exhaustion caused by constantly feeling swamped. It’s a result of excessive and prolonged emotional, physical and mental stress. Burnout can occur when you’re overwhelmed, emotionally drained and unable to keep up with life. It happens to everyone at some point.
16
HOW TO AVOID BURNOUT
Having a varied schedule It is important for us to make sure that we are not doing the same thing over and over again. To give it an example, if a law student spends their time memorizing all 184 articles on the Federal Constitution it will eventually make them feel burned out. Burnout does not only involve studying, playing video games or only watching movies, the idea of doing the exact same thing for a long period of time would make us feel overwhelmed and empty inside. Mixing things up by having different activities to do or doing things that make us happy will prevent us from feeling burnout.

but having a purpose would help us move forward to the next stage.
Sometimes we just need to take a small break and talk about our feelings in order for us to process and think of solutions to every problem that we face.
Rest
Working hard is important but knowing when to rest and take a break is necessary to avoid burnout. I personally like to watch youtube videos in between doing my assignments.

Pig bladders were used in the 19th century to store an artist’s paint. The bladder would be sealed with a string and then pricked to get the paint out. This option wasn’t the best because it would often break open. American painter John G. Rand was the innovator who made paint tubes from tin and screw caps in the 19th century.
