1. Religions The words related to religion are not capitalized in French language. Hence if you are involved in French language translation, you must not capitalize such words. For example, it is musulman in French and Muslim in English.

2. Titles Titles infront of a proper noun are not capitalized in French. So, if the source text in English says ‘Professor Mark’, so, it would be translated as ‘le professeur Mark’ in French, as per the capitalization rules.

3. Nationalities Nationalities are also not capitalized in French language. ‘le français’ represents the French nationality in French language. But, there is one exception here. If the nationality (in the source text) is utilized as a proper noun, then it would get capitalized.

4. Family Names The rule here is a bit different. Here, the entire name is not capitalized. Only the surname is written in all caps. If you find a name in the source text, then it would be translated as Victor HUGO.

5. Geographical Words The geographical words must not be capitalized in French language. Any name of a mountain, street etc should not be capitalized.

6. Days and Months To make sure that the source text is precisely localized and translated into French language, then you must not capitalize the months and days. For a localized copy, it is essential.
