COLLECTION
focuses on showcasing the grandeur and glamour of the most iconic tales and treasures of the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia with the approach of story-telling through art and illustration. Each scarf has been passionately designed and carefully curated to tell its own story in a certain sequence and with an abundance of detail.
Three scarf designs for three different sites within the Eastern Province, starting with the dreamy tale of ALQARAH MOUNTAIN [Saudi’s fifth UNESCO World Heritage Site], moving on to THAJ KINGDOM and its hidden treasures, ending in the harmonious scenery of ALASFAR LAKE .
Despite coming from the same location, each scarf is unique in its composition, design elements and color scheme reflecting a certain ambience and sensation.

ALQARAH SCARF
renders the significant story of Alqarah Mountain, one of the most eminent natural historical monuments in Al Ahsa Governorate. 25 million years ago, the entire site was underwater with a prosperous marine life, reflected in the design within the outer frame showing corals, plantation, and different kinds of fish.
The illustration also displays the unique formation of the mountains, which were sculpted by the harmonious movement of sea water between stones, and its layering of red hued sedimentary rocks, which is expressed by using warm monochromatic tones to resemble the gradient of different layers.
The perspective of the design is made to trigger the feeling of being surrounded by the mountains, unfolding the story in an immersive picturesque depiction using overlapping layers and microscopic details. Located in the middle of the desert within a green oasis, the palm trees were added to crown the frame and complete the narrative.
The color palette gives a tranquil and dreamy sensation yet a sharp contrast between the two realms, embodying the story of man and the history of the site.

THAJ SCARF
reveals the tale of a girl who lived in the first century, she was found by Saudi archaeologists back in 1998, lying on a bed made of copper with legs made of gold, her face covered with a golden mask and her arms covered with golden gloves, with small toys and studs of gold around her.
They called her the princess of Thaj, since her tomb was one of the treasures found in Thaj Kingdom; an ancient settlement that belongs to the Nairiyah Governorate, located west of Jubail, also known as the ‘Treasure of Archaeology and Antiquities’.
The artwork showcases the girl’s personal belongings, from the golden mask and gloves to her necklaces, rings and bracelets in a classical composition tied together with her braided golden necklace chain. The expression of particular details and tactile textures gives the scarf a sophisticated sense of luxury and delight, equivalent in value to the her 18 kilograms of golden treasure.
The color palette is mainly focused on representing the extravagant golden shine and reflecting the natural tones of gemstones from her jewelry, to portray a traditional elegance.

ALASFAR SCARF
embodies the natural beauty found in Al Asfar Lake, a nature reserve located in the city of Al Omran in Al Ahsa Governorate, the largest water body in the Gulf region and the only one in Saudi Arabia of its kind, where an integrated wildlife exists.
The canvas paints an interesting segment of the lake in a parallactic composition where it can be viewed from all sides and angles. Since the lake has the most uncommon natural features in one spot such as lush green trees, soft golden sands, and fresh waters, the layout reveals the different elements in different layers throughout design elements and hues.
Withal, the frame presents the various types of plantations as well as the diversity of animals and the different kinds of resident and migratory birds within the lake, displaying a serene and harmonious scenery.
The color palette symbolizes the natural vibrant pigments of the lake in contrast with the deep shade of water, giving the whole canvas depth and dimensionality.
