A NEIGHBOURHOOD LIBRARY: ADAPTIVE REUSE OF THE JORDANIAN HOUSE OF POETRY graduation project, supervised by dr. paying homage to its significance, location and history, through architectural interventions and programme - introduce the 21st century library as the 3rd place , an institution no longer limited to books. - continue and preserve the cultural loop of the municipality library, roman theatre and hashemite plaza - use the library as a link between mountain and valley, old and new, east and west, providing a platform for interaction and conversation - include the neighbourhood community by providing them with services they need
adaptive reuse approach - highlights the building as an important landmark in the timeline of Amman - sheds light on the history of the city, its buildings, how they started and developed over time (narrated by the dramatic view) through the everyday, interactive and regenerating function - eases the intervention on site; it serves as a local anchor that helps people relate to the project, making the intervention more familiar and welcoming

year|exchange year in Germany, 2016 aim of the project|create an every-day object using two different materials through experimentation concept|upcycling: giving dead leaves another life by combing them with gypsum to create a fruit bowl materials
final product final product made by arranging leaves at the bottom of the model bowl (1) then pouring gypsum on top of them (2) allowing the material to seep through the creases between leaves. the gypsum was then pressed with another bowl (3) to produce the final form and left to air-dry
