Another School Year is Upon Us

Parents and teachers, are you ready for back to school? It is hard to believe that the summer is almost over, but alas, now is the time of the year to begin preparing our students in the community to get ready for the 2019-20 school year. I have four kids myself in the Zachary School System, all at different schools, and I know how hard it can be to get prepared. Each year our staff at the Zachary Post try to pull together as much information as possible to assist in a smooth transition from summer activities to the rigor of a strong educational environment. I hope the information contained herein this Back to School Issue of the Zachary Post will benefit our local students and parents alike.

Each year, the Zachary Community School District chooses a theme that focuses on the dedication that we have to the children in our district. For the 2019-2020 school year, our theme will be, “Next Level: Educating and Inspiring our Future.” Education is not just about passing along knowledge from our teachers to our students; it is also about in-

spiring positive outcomes and the fostering of ideas. As a community, education should be our major investment in the future of our students. When we focus our efforts on teaching, preparing, and inspiring every student, every day, we are getting an excellent return on the investment that will grow for years to come. Our dedicated team of educators will continue to plant and water seeds to prepare our students for life in a global world, both in and out of the classroom. Our students have continued to excel and succeed in academics, the arts, and athletics. As Superintendent, I want to sustain and grow our community partnership. We are extremely grateful for your sup-

port and involvement; and we hope that you will continue to be engaged in our activities, events, and in the lives of all of our students. I look forward to welcoming back our incredible team of educators and our amazing students. It is my hope that you will join us in assisting each and every student in reaching his or her maximum potential through high-quality instruction and good stewardship of community resources. Scott Devillier
