HALLOWEEN MEDITERRANEA AEAST MINIONS RUNN SUMMER A PUSH FOR MOT T RECYCLING

How did the annual Key Club Halloween Meeting come out as a success and what were some highlights?

The Key Club meeting that turned into a Halloween party was the best! It was different from our usual gatherings, with the members dressed up in their best Halloween costumes. Our usual meeting room was transformed into a fun party, with food set up on the table, and us officers dressed up to get people into that Halloween spirit. It really didn’t feel like a normal meeting, but I really liked that. The meeting started off with the officers welcoming everyone in their costumes! One was dressed as Bob Ross, another person was dressed as a basketball player, and even someone was dressed as a taco! We all had a costume contest to vote on who had the best costume! There was a tie between Shrek and Yeat. They had an amazing dance battle, which made everyone laugh. The winner was Shrek which was my personal favorite! We all smiled at the fact that everyone was in their creative and funny costumes. It really was hard not to smile and appreciate everyone's efforts. Instead of our usual meeting agenda, we had a small food gathering. There were delicious Halloween treats and fall-themed. There were Halloween-themed cupcakes, fall-themed donuts, and small candies for people to grab.

I couldn’t help myself but enjoy these amazing treats. What stood out to me the most was how everyone got involved. It was just officers running the meeting; every member patiently waited for us to dismiss them to sign up for their favorite places. I really appreciated how everyone was kind and considerate to everyone else. The best part of the meeting was the party, and how it brought us together. We all laughed, we cheered, during the costume contest. It wasn’t just Halloween that was fun, it was the spirit of Key Club that brought us together. This meeting is definitely one that is going to be in my memories for a long time.

ST.PUMPKIN JUDE'S VAW LEMONADE TENNIS CLS SOCCER CONC UNIC BIBLE SCH What is the Pumpkin Walk and what is the purpose of this event during october?

In the midst of October, the Beaumont Heritage Society provided our community with a hearty, warm event otherwise known as the Pumpkin Walk. This festive and spooky event was a great way to bond with friends and families and to learn more about the French family’s history in Beaumont. In fact, the John Jay French House is the oldest house in Beaumont, dating back all the way to the 1800s, which is open to visitors to tour. The Pumpkin Walk catered to those who wanted to both gain knowledge and wanted to have fun with its extensive amount of activities. The activities ranged from a hayride that showcased the French family during life and death— to a walking tour where actors and actresses participated in who portrayed themselves as members of the French family to explain their whereabouts and their life stories.

They also had a pumpkin contest where they displayed pumpkins that were decorated extraordinarily and in ways that I never fathomed were possible. As someone who volunteered with both the set-up and the event itself, I can conclude that the directors of the Pumpkin Walk are dedicated and passionate about the educational and recreational opportunities that the John Jay French Museum holds. Before the actual event, a few other volunteers and I got to accessorize the museum with spooky decorations and bring the place to life with items such as hay bales and cobwebs; perfect for an eerie, autumnal setting. Everything began to come together when the Pumpkin Walk started and the place began to fill up with people who were eager to see the many activities they could do. One of my favorite parts of the Pumpkin Walk was the hayride in which I had the opportunity to be a part of as the dead wife of John Jay French’s son. It was highly amusing to see the people’s reactions to the actions of the other actors and actresses because they did hysterical stunts such as chasing the people on the hayride. All in all, my experience volunteering at the Beaumont Heritage Society’s Pumpkin Walk was one that was unforgettable.
