We would like to dedicate this letter to all Mothers. This is a special letter because it is addressed to mothers now living or deceased. The person that wrote this letter is unknown. So, here is the letter. “As I look back on my life, I find myself wondering . . . Did I remember to thank you mother, for all that you have done for me? For all of the times you were by my side, to help me celebrate my successes and accept my defeats? Thank you for teaching me the value of hard work, good judgment, courage and honesty? I wonder if I've ever thanked you for the simple things . . . The laughter, smiles and quiet times we've shared? If I have forgotten to express my gratitude, for any of these things, I am thanking you now . . . and I am hoping that you've known all along, how very much you are loved and appreciated. If you enjoyed this letter why not write your mother a letter. Here we have provided you with information on how Mother's Day was first

conceived. Anna M. Jarvis of Philadelphia, after the death of her mother. The first Mother's Day was celebrated only in Philadelphia on May 10, 1908. It was declared a national holiday in 1914, by presidential proclamation. Can You Believe This? The Guinness Book of World Records says the mother who gave birth to the most children was the wife of Russian Feodor Vassilyev. Her 69 children included 16 pairs of twins, seven sets of triplets and four sets of quadruplets. Many women have a difficult time on Mother’s Day, because they have suffered the loss of a child, or have fertility problems that have prevented them from becoming mothers. If you know a woman who finds Mother's Day to be filled with sadness, please think of her today. There are also many women who, while not necessarily being mothers themselves, have served as mother figures to others, and they all deserve to be remembered on Mother's Day.

FLIP is an intensive 16-week program facilitated collaboratively with the City of Fontana Police Department and Fontana Unified School District. The program targets at-risk youth from middle through high school. Fontana Parents of troubled teens have the aid of a program that could help set them straight. An eight-hour class is held each Saturday during 16 weeks that focuses on gang and drug prevention, anger management, physical fitness, discipline, English and writing skills. FUSD stands for Fontana Unified School District (Fontana, CA, USA) Goal setting is also a pillar of the program. Students are asked to think of career and education goals, and the program connects them with resources to help accomplish those goals. Police, firefighters and military recruiters speak with students about careers in the fields. Field trips ae a part of the program to Educational Institutions, places like USC give students an example of a place they might want to be and visits to juvenile detention centers provide a preview of where they could end up if they don’t shape up. FLIP is all about changes the mind set of their students. Their grades, attitudes and direction are challenged to FLIP how you been doing things. The day was filled with students from the Inland Empire School District. It was an exciting day to have experienced. Written by Ethel Martin-Miller.
